In a child's heart there's a longing,
to be loved and taught what is right.
In a child's world there are times,
when somebody's guidance brings, light.

In the eyes' of the Savior, they are special,
each one unique and so frail.
He must have sent loving leaders,
so knowledge and hope would prevail.

In a child's life there are mentors,
someone who'd give of their time.
A mother or father, a teacher or friend,
and by leaning on them, they would climb.

Mentors are love beams from heaven,
commissioned to listen and care.
He must have known that His children
would learn by all that you share.

Our Savior loves all of His children,
He said, let them come, let them near.
He misses them so, and wants them to know,
that they are so precious and dear.

He knew they would be teachable,
He knew their hearts we could reach.
And as He departed, He said,
Go unto the world and teach.
