Since opening on May 9th, 1997, The Fifth Element has raked in over a hundred million dollars. 

Bringing us science fiction at its best, Luc Besson (the film's writer and director) has really made a movie that future generations are sure to remember for it's excitement, originality, and drama.

If you have come to this page looking for a spoiler as to what the movie is about, keep looking.  I can however, offer a brief synopsis... 

This movie begins in 1914 Egypt (this is important to the storyline, because it spans millennia.)  After the brief opening scenes in 1914, we are transported to a world 300 years from that point ( I am assuming that it takes place in 2214 A.D.). Here we see a world where the population has ballooned to over 200 billion citizens, flying cars are finally a reality, and space has been colonized.   Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) who is made (reluctantly) in charge of bringing the Fifth Element back to Egypt to save the world.  I can't say more than that because this is one of the most exotic story lines I have ever seen. Go rent (or buy) the film...
