The Choir
Released in 1976 on Bomp Records, this 5-track EP is now out-of-print. The back cover contains the classic photo of The Choir and The Yardbirds. Liner notes by Anastasia Pantsios.
The Best Of Bomp
This album marked the first appearance of a Choir track on a full-length LP. Alongside some truly great performances by other artists, Wally Bryson's song "I'd Rather You Leave Me" with lead vocals by Dave Smalley hints strongly that The Choir, with the right management and label, might have been more successful than The Raspberries if they'd had the chance. The back cover of the 1978 release also features a photo of The Choir that has never appeared anywhere else! Another great release from Bomp Records. Bomp has recently reissued this album.
Stiv Bators
The former leader of Cleveland's punk rock band The Dead Boys had a pop side, too. The late Stiv Bators, also recording for Bomp Records , released this picture sleeve 45 which included a cover of The Choir's "It's Cold Outside" in 1979. The track, and alternate versions of the song by Stiv, has appeared on a number of Bomp singles and albums since then. Stiv was reportedly a huge Choir/Raspberries fan.
Pebbles: Volume 2
Another Bomp Records release, this one features The Choir's "It's Cold Outside."
Highs In The Mid-Sixties: Volume 9
The Ohio edition of the Bomp Records series that collected classic tracks by '60s bands includes The Choir.
Choir Practice
The classic 1994 Sundazed Records release, The Choir Practice, resulted from the hard work of label head Jeff Jarema and others, with cooperation from the members of The Choir, to bring together the previously unreleased album The Choir recorded at the close of the 1960s and other material into one anthology. Included are rehearsals and alternate versions. The album was released on LP (very cool) and CD --- both formats are still available from the label, by the way.
