When thinking about what else I could add to this page, I came to one conclusion. I need to let Alexei speak to the world. This page has letters, and diary entries written by the tsarevich. All of these were found in the book called, "A lifelong Passion.". I hope everyone enjoys his words, and hears the innocent voice who said them.

Dear Papa,

1 Yesterday we played at war. I took the enemy trench in one moment but was immediately thrown back and taken prisoner. But at that very second I broke away and scrammed! My fortifications remained. I feel well. How is your health? Write to me! A big kiss. May God Protect you!

Your Loving Alexei

My Dear Papa!

1 They have made me a soldiers coat, and I stood guard in it today. Today P.V.P.(Pyotr Vasilievich, Russian teacher) brought me from Petrograd three entrenching spades in leather cases. It has been raining for three days, which stops us playing. I am studying all right and feel well. Write to me! May the Lord keep you! A big kiss,

My Dear Papa,

1 Today there is a strong frost! Lots of snow, the tower is frozen. Yesterday i was at Pavlosk, the locomotive there flattened one of my pennies. My Beloved Darling Mama,

1 Thank you for the paper, I am writing you on it, I would like it to be in verse, but I can't(good???!). Now I go for a drive in the motor every morning after my first lesson. Yesterday we drove past the convent. The nuns were digging potatoes, the pigs were all lying in the puddles. The dogs and the little boys were running and everything got covered with dust. After lunch we went out in the motors with papa. We baked potatoes and ate them with butter and bread, it was all very good!!! N. Pavlovich arrived. After dinner there was a film. I thank you and my sister very much for your letters. The weather is again good here(+14). It's time to finish writing this letter. Papa is coming now. May the Lord protect you! I kiss you all.

My Dear Pyotr Vasilievich,

1 I send you my best wishes for the coming Christmas and first new year. I hope that you recieved my last letter. How are you keeping? For the moment we have very little snow, so it is difficult to make a mountain. Joy is getting fatter every day as he keeps eating rubbish from the refuse pit. Everyone chases him away with sticks. He has alot of friends in the town and is always running away. I am writing to you during my French lesson, as I have almost no free time, but when I am on holiday I will write more often. Greeting and congradulations to the teachers. May the Lord keep you!
