Welcome to the Data Assets Development web site. Data Assets Development is a consulting service to I/S and business management specializing in information planning and data management issues. The phrase "data is a corporate asset" has been commonplace in most businesses for years. Yet rarely are data assets subject to the level of control accorded financial assets. Likewise, rarely do data assets get the level of integrated attention expended on human resources. This is not to say that companies do not invest in data. Indeed, the direct and hidden cost of data to the typical company is quite high. The payback, however, is usually far from the expectations.

Data Assets Development is founded on the premise that data can be regarded as a corporate asset and that with proper techniques and discipline companies can reap significant returns on their data-related investments.

Please browse through our site. You will find plain English explanations of data management terms, ideas for organizing your data resources, and brief introductions to such topics as Data Architecture, Central Data Management and Strategic Data Planning.
