The Steps to U.S. Employment
1. I'll review your training and credentials and inform you of the options. In most cases, you can dramatically increase your income by taking a position in the U.S. I work with many Canadian physicians who are disillusioned with the Canadian system, and are seeking opportunities in communities that will value their services.
Currently, if you do not have USMLE, FLEX or NBME, you must seek employment in a community designated as medically under served by a state or the U.S. Federal government. I have resources to show you your options. There may be an opportunity to pursue immigration through a spouse or other route--let's talk about it.
2. Several states do not recognize LMCC for purposes of state licensure--we'll discuss your geographic preferences and the locations in which you can get a license.
3. Many hospitals and practices have no experience with recruiting Canadian physicians, and think it is impossible. I am your link to these opportunities--providing information on licensing and immigration to show them they can employ Canadian physicians.
