Statement of
Faith
1. We believe the Bible, which
is the inspired Word of God is without error in it's original writing (II
Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20; Matthew 5:17-18). It is sufficient, the supreme
authority for life and faith (II Peter 1:3; II Timothy 3:16-17).
2. We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4),
the Creator and Sustainer of the universe (Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Colossians
1:16-17), eternally existent (Isaiah 57:15; Romans 1:20) in three Persons
(Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; John 6:27; John 10:30; Acts 5:3-4).
3. We believe in the Deity of Christ (John 1:1, 10:30). We believe in His
virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27, 34), His vicarious atonement (Romans
5:19; I Peter 3:18), and His bodily resurrection (I Corinthians 15:4-8,20;
Matthew 28:5-6) to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for the
believers (Ephesians 1:20; Hebrews 7:25). We believe in the Pre-tribulational,
imminent rapture of the church, and the personal, physical and pre-millennial
return of Christ in glory (I Thessalonians 4:16; Matthew 24:36; 25:31).
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). We
believe in the total depravity of mankind, that we are not basically good,
but sinners by birth (Romans 3:23; 5:12).
5. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 2:11; Acts 16:31). We believe in the perseverance
of the saints (John 10:27-30; Ephesians 4:30; I John 5:11-13). We believe
in the indwelling of every believer by the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 3:16;
II Corinthians 6:19-20) to enlighten (John 14:17, 26), guide (Romans 8:14),
enable (Acts 1:8), assure (Romans 8:16), and pray (Romans 8:26).
6. We believe in the establishment of the church (Matthew 16:18). We believe
that spiritual gifts were given to each believer for use in the local church
(Romans 12:3-8; I Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:4-16), and some, the sign gifts,
were limited to the early church (I Corinthians 13:8-10). We believe that
believers are called into a life of separation from the world, and all of
it's sinful practices (I Corinthians 6:14-17; Ephesians 5:7-15).
7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust- the
just to eternal life in heaven, and the unjust to eternal damnation in hell
(Daniel 12:2; Revelation 20:12; I Thessalonians 4:16).
8. We believe that the Bible clearly condemns the practice of homosexuality
(Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:24-32; I Corinthians 6:9-10; I Timothy
1:9-10), but God loves homosexuals (Romans 5:8, I Corinthians 6:9-11). We
believe that homosexuals can find deliverance through the truth of God's
Word (John 8:32-36). We believe that the church should stand against the
sin of homosexuality (I John 2:5-17), yet love and reach out to the homosexual
(John 8:1-11; II Timothy 2:24-26).
