IT WAS A WIXY REUNION 1997
WMJI Cleveland hosted a WIXY reunion weekend October 10, 11 and 12, and RadioActive was there. Returning Disc Jockeys included Jack Armstrong, Lou King Kirby (a builder in Cancun Mexico), Mike Reineri (currently at WAXY), Chuck Knapp currently with Promise Keepers), Billy Bass (WMJI) and Jim LaBarbera. The event included about 32 hours of interviews of and broadcasts by the former WIXY jocks as well personal appearances / live broadcasts from Ghoulardifest. IT WAS A WIXY REUNION 1997RadioActive caught the whole 32 hours on VHS tape and was there for most of the remote broadcast Saturday afternoon. Also present at Ghoulardifest Saturday were RadioActivists Kaptin Ignatz (formerly of Ghoul*Pardi), Dave Sharp (formerly of WNCI, now of JAM), and Michael Olszewski (a little bit of everything in Cleveland broadcast journalism). I also met several future RadioActivists, I'm sure. One highlight was meeting Cleveland's oldest teenager, Jane Scott.
Jane Scott wrote about the event in her weekly column, but failed to mention meeting RadioActive !
