Welcome

I write plays. I also write about plays. I also write about (and teach) writing plays. And screenplays, and TV scripts, and radio scripts, and any form in which actors can engage an audience in a story.

This website is an invitation to those interested not only in my work, but also in the challenges of creating stories for actors to perform.

I will attempt to keep current posting what's going on in my professional life. I will post information here on productions, readings, publications, workshops, and the like
here . You can also use the e-mail address dgsweet@aol.com to drop me a line and ask questions and raise topics.

I often write articles for Dramatics, The Dramatist and other publications. I usually post early drafts of these to a list serve. To subscribe, send an e-mail to
sweet-gang-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Yes, it's free. One of the reasons I do this is because people on the list are good enough to catch errors in the texts or raise questions that would improve the article. Sometimes a debate starts, and that may stimulate the creation of another article. If you're not interested in reading anything by anybody else but me, subscribe by sending an e-mail to the following address:sweet-no-feedback-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. If you're interested in wading through years of past messages, click here . I believe you have to be a member of Yahoo to do so.

I'm posting more regular information on my activities on
this page .

For those interested in getting your hands on my books, below are links to the appropriate pages at Amazon --

For Something Wonderful Right Away, click
here .
For The Dramatist's Toolkit, click

For Solving Your Script, click

Northwestern University Press is going to publish an anthology of my plays, When I have a link for that, I'll list that here.
