My Hobby: Astronomy

Downloads: my astronomy - software, it's free for all hobby-astronomers, not for so called astrologic "calcultions"

Welcome on the english version of my homepage. I am teaching music-theory (and some stuff around this) at the "Hochschule des Saarlandes für Musik und Theater" in Germany, Saarland, just at the frontier to Lothringen, France. My hobby is: sometimes observing the stars, more often: sitting at my computer, calculating ephemerides and writing software to do this.

My professional music-sites (especially about score-playing) are only available in german at this moment.

As you perhaps may know, there are some connexions between musical theory and astronomy. And there are connexions to my favourite instrument - the organ, too (partialtone-scale, and so on).

Apropos: Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel (1738-1822), discovering Uranus, was organist, too, bevore he became "full-time" astronomer. Well, I wouln't step into his footsteps or is there still a 10th planet out there, to be discovered?

I have written some astronomy software, which may be of interest for you. Ephemeris Tool is (as you can imagine) a tool for creating ephemerides under Windows 95. You can use it to store ephemeris-tables in the handsome *.csv-format (to work with them in an editor or a spreadsheet under Windows 95). Virtual Sky is a simple PC-Planetarium for Windows 95.

My software doesn't cost any money, if you use it as an amateur. Don't make money with it! And: don't use it for so called astrological "calculations", only for astronomy. OK? Feel free to download my software in german language, too.

Hochschule des Saarlandes für Musik und TheaterHere you get informations about studying music in Saarebruck, Germany. HMT is not htm, it is Hochschule des Saarlandes für Musik und Theater.
