- Published author and poet. Listed in "International Authors' and Writers' Who's Who", and published by India's Academy of Literature, and other magazines and anthologies in India and England.
- Also served as Managing Editor, CRICKETER North American Edition. Wrote several series of articles on cricket: "Cricket in America", "Cricket for Baseball Players", and "Early Cricket from 700 to 1700 AD". These were published in CRICKETER, and then printed in booklet form for distribution across North America. - Gourmet cook: Experimented with (and wrote about) worldwide cuisines, from ancient times to the present. Can usually produce at least one recipe from any region in the world, and any era (ancient to modern---well, almost any!). Prepared banquets from 2nd-century Rome to 16th century India, usually for fun and for friends.
- Translated, interpreted and published ancient texts and manuscripts from Vedic, Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Avestan and Cuneiform --- mainly to learn what the ancients really said, and going to source documents looked like the best way to do it.
- Freelance photographer (member of NFLPA)---specialize in candid and sports photography, and photojournalism (usually to accompany articles). Also did some video and movie documentary work, mostly scripting.
- Artist in different (mixed) media, depending on what was available : exhibited paintings in India, Europe and the US--- Am an exponent of India's so-called "Synthesist" style, and was also exhibited at the All-India Academy of Fine Art.
- Have travelled and lived in most continents, and across 35 states in US, not for sight-seeing as much as to really understand the world we live in.
- Latest project or "wild idea": Developed, and now working on the details of, an A-C (artificial consciousness) concept that will hopefully lead to a prototype (like Commander Data?) in 20 years. It really IS possible---and can be proved to be so. But it will take time and patience to demonstrate it.
PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE
To the degree I have a consistent outlook on life, it would be this---
Getting as close as possible to Truth--which forever exists outside our grasp, yet becomes more and more like Beauty the closer one gets to it--is, in my opinion, the only real reason for living that a human being can have.
This is why the frontiers..of knowledge, of art, AND of real philosophy... are my passions.
(1) I do believe that the Truth is Out There.
BUT
(2) We need to understand it, or/and appreciate it
AND
(3) THAT takes hard work... intuition... research... AND imagination---
not necessarily in that order, but all four.
Here are just a few of my favorite places on the Web.
