Introduction
It has been over ten months since I wrote my last fic "To Hell and Back."
A lot has changed since then, EGB is not on TV nearly as much as it used to be
(only once a week, if at all), RGB is back on the air, and the GBFF has evolved
into a web site of pure genius, and overwhelming content. I had almost given up
on writing fan fic, but something, buried deep inside me, told me that I couldn't.
This will, hopefully, be the first in a series of fics...of various styles ...
shorts, full blown eps, and fun snippets. I would say that I have changed a
great deal since I wrote "To Hell and Back," my writing style has evolved somewhat,
and I think my writing is a little less corny. Some of you may hate my new style ...
hopefully most of you will like it. But the fact is: I write fan fic because
it's what I like to do in my free time, I do it for fun, and to keep the show I love
alive in the hearts of many. I don't do it for fame, I don't do it for long letters
of comment, I do it because I like it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Before I begin, I would like to extend my deepest thanks to the following people:
Nora Salisbury, Jacob Milnestein, J.R. Dyer, Dana and Jayne Timbreza, Tenebraug,
Paul Palmer, Adam Gertenbach, EGB Fanatic, Crispin Tobey (we miss ya),
and Ica (haven't heard from you in a LONG, LONG time).
You've all been great friends to me, I cherish every one of your friendships
and I'm very sorry if I forgot anyone.
And last, but by far not the least, I would like to extend my eternal thanks to Doreen Mulman.
You're the best friend I have ever had, and I owe you everything. I wish you the best of luck
with the GBFF: the best Ghostbusters page on the Internet, which I am proud to be a part of.
And now without further delay, I present to you:
"The First Forever"
by: Dr. WAV
Kylie Griffin and Eduardo Rivera had been sitting on the couch in the rec room watching TV all
day. They hadn't had a call all day, and neither of them ever felt the need to leave the couch.
Unknown to each other both of them and been gazing quickly at each other when the other wasn't
looking. "I can't believe how beautiful she is," Eduardo thought to himself, "it's as if ... she was a goddess."
He sighed in his mind, "If only she knew how I felt about her, if only she
knew how important she is to me ... maybe, just maybe, she has the same feelings for me, but I
can't tell her ... what if she laughs at me, or worse... No, no, no. I can't take that risk,
as long as I don't try, I can't be rejected."
"God, he's drop-dead gorgeous," Kylie thought to herself, as she gazed upon Eduardo when he
wasn't looking. "I've never met a man like him, he acts like a complete jerk sometimes, but
I don't think that's the REAL him. I think he's afraid ... of something ... but I can't quite
tell what. If only he knew ... how I really felt ... maybe he would be willing to open up to me,
and maybe I could help him." She looked intensely at him, as if she was trying to look inside
his soul to see what was there. She soon realized this was futile. There was only one way to
really see his soul, but she was too afraid of his reaction too look. "What if I tell him and
he rejects me, right now we're good friends ... one of my only friends, one of the few that
really cares about me. If I was to tell him and he rejected me, how could I ever look at him
again?" As she pondered this, she wished that she could tell him how she felt, but the fear
was overpowering.
Suddenly Eduardo turned to look at her, Kylie's first reaction was to look away but something
deep inside her told her to look into his eyes, deep into them. Their eyes met ... and locked.
Only one thing echoed in their minds at that moment.
"I love her."
"I love him."
"I have to tell her."
"I have to tell him."
"Kyl..." Eduardo began.
"Eduar..." Kylie simultaneously began.
Eduardo was the first to speak then after.
"Kylie, I need to talk to you."
"I need to talk to you too."
"Kylie..."
"Yes, Eduardo?"
"I... I..."
Kylie stared at him with great anticipation of what he was about to say next.
"I... love you."
Her eyes grew wide, and she could barely think enough to get her lips to form the following words.
"Ohhh, Eduardo... I... love you too."
Eduardo couldn't believe his ears, he was been so afraid that she would reject him, but in reality
she felt the same way he did. Something deep inside his soul wanted to burst out, something buried
deep under years of pain, but he had no idea how to express it.
Kylie was more shocked than anything else, she couldn't believe he felt that way about her. She
too felt an emotion deep inside, buried under hundreds of other emotions, something she never
felt before ... almost as if a whole new dimension on reality had been opened for her to explore,
a dimension that could not be explored alone. Suddenly she realized what she had to do, she
wrapped her arms tightly around Eduardo and brought her heart as close to his as possible.
It then became clear to Eduardo as well when he in turn wrapped his arms around her and pulled
her close. Their hearts began to beat in unison, they then realized what they had been searching
for all their lives, and the sudden realization of what it was, it was each other they were
looking for. They just didn't realize it.
The embraced for a long time, neither of them saying a word, because neither had to. They could
feel each other's thoughts, and emotions eliminating the need for words. What lies in the future
for these two soulmates? Only time will tell.
The End (for now)
