Steve Put On A Show!!!!
I've seen Journey twice with Steve A as the frontman and it's amazing to
me how a singer can wail out such great songs and keep up such a high level
of energy and repoire with the fans at the same time. Journey fans got more
than their money's worth with the summer tour. And you can't say that about
band nowadays that go onstage and just go through the motions.

Everyone who get to go this weekend,
I just wanted to tell you all to have a great time!!!! I will be thinking
of you while I sit home (one block from the largest ammunition storage on
the west coast makes me feel so safe)somebody has to hold the fort down.
I know you all will have so much fun. I would love to go but my husband just
gave me the look when I said it would be fun to go.Does anyone have back
stage passes? I hope the next time Journey plays it will be a little closer
to the west coast. Irvine would be best, but LA would work also. Be safe
and have a great weekend!!!!!!

I sent an email to Dogman asking if there was any way this site could be

A Little SA Fan
I have to tell you guys about a young SA fan, Spencer Shumway. He is about
12 or 13 and since he met SA a couple times at concerts this summer with
his mom, Traci, Spencer is a huge SA fan. I met Traci this summer (and I
do believe young Spencer was there too)& she is a remarkable lady--something
like 11 kids she has including several foster children. Anyway, Spencer was
in a very serious accident this weekend and apparently has a long recovery
ahead of him. But the good part is that a couple Journey fans in the SLC
area are helping Traci out by visiting Spencer in the hospital--he loves
to talk Journey. As fate would have it, I just sent a copy of the Vegas show
to one of these fans and she is taking it to Spencer. Now he can watch his
hero, SA, on the VCR in his room. It seems he was quite disappointed there
was no internet access because he loves the Journey message boards. Long
story short, people sometimes say these message boards are stupid and Journey
fans are . . . blah, blah, but I have met some amazing folks at Journey concerts.
And the power of music and Journey is helping a young man recover. Pretty
cool, I think.

JUST COMMON SENSE!
Love Perry's voice...yes. Love Augeri's voice, heart and work
ethic.....absolutely. Hate Sony's lack of common sense...never ending. As
a Journey fan, either the new lineup is good or it is not. Picture today's
Perry (not a dream that we all have in our heads) singing Remember Me and
Higher Place....not (he couldn't even hit his own notes today to say the
least of Augeri's). Am I trying to start a war that was already started by
Perry worshipers (remember that there is only one true God). I listen to
Perry's OLD material ALL the time. Why try to drag down the ship whenever
the old captain doesn't have the skill (unless we are talking slow love songs
and NOTHING else) or the WILL to take the ship out to new horizons??????
Not trying to get you riled up but...face the truth, the facts and stop slamming
Augeri for taking a job that would not have been available if Perry truly
wanted to go on tour or continue recording. Having said this....how long
have you been a Journey fan and do you even half of the Perry recordings
that I have???????

EHJ,
You are absolutely on target. I have and always will enjoy the past Journey
recordings. If I didn't, I would be just as idiotic as some of the lunatics
that seek to destroy the current lineup and all that they have to offer.
So there is an extremely talented lead singer. Judge his contributions to
the music. Judge the lyrics, soul and amazing skills of this band. Many of
the most ardent critics of the new lineup wouldn't even dare give these guys
a chance. But, true Journey fans listen with a neutral "Show me what you've
got attitude" and then judge. If Perry EVER releases something new.....for
the umpteenth time, I will have it before some of these idiots that claim
that he is the only "savior for Journey". There is and always will be only
one that we should hold high. If there is ever another lead singer for this
band, I will go through the same PAINFUL evaluation process that I went through
with Augeri. I have listened to extremely talented singers that didn't have
one of the best songwriters of all time (Cain) or one of the best guitarist
(Schon) collaborating with them. These singers are forgettable.

Thank You Steve A!!!!
After a very bad day I picked up my son from daycare and found a note in
his back pack that a sweet 6 year old boy from my sons school had lost his
battle with leukemia on Monday. This little boy had pulled our community
together by letting us help his family with food, toys,a blood drive and
bone marrow testing. I sat down and cryed. My wonderful husband came home
gave me a hug and told me to go to Petco for dog food. On my way back I put
Tall Stories in and headed for a long drive down PCH. Thank You Steve for
the escape! I was able to pull myself together go home and listen to my son
read and thank God that I have a healthy family, and everything else will
work out in time.

The best thing is that it will also be on VHS--yipeeee!!! I don't have to
shell out for a DVD player yet. (you can take that off my Christmas present
list, EH J) Now, the part that is a little disappointing is that it is confirmed
it will only be the Vegas Mandalay Bay show. There was some talk that it
might include some stuff from this summer's tour. If you ask me the band
got better and better all summer, so I would have like to have seen some
of that, but--Vegas show is good also! (Release date=12/11/01 106 min.

SONY REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS!
I have told SONY this personally SEVERAL times (can't even post on Back Talk
anymore). NO ARRIVAL AT RADIO STATIONS, COLUMBIA HOUSE, OR BMG!! Now come
on you unintelligent MORONIC IDIOTS, how is the album supposed to sell if
no one even knows that it exists? Well, uh... you know if Perry were singing
they would buy it anyway you know uhhhhhhhh! Not if they CAN'T EVEN FIND
IT!!! Sony sucks they really, truly beyond a doubt do in a BIG way. The only
people that suffer besides the band are the countless people that will never
be gifted to hear this great album bring positive, talented energy into their
lives. For those that buy Essential Journey, you only feed the fact that
even though a Journey fan already has the material, we will get even richer
because the Journey fan will buy it over and over again so, why support this
new Journey stuff?

EXCUSES
Get a life Ragin, people know about the album. What about all of the so called
sold out shows that Journey had over the summer. It was a large tour and
evidently NONE of the REAL Journey fans have chose to buy the album. They
all know about it. Very FEW albums are promoted heavily , it is an excuse
for the fact that the album lost all relevance when they decided to become
a cover band...

Sony did all they could
Sony did everything to push album but radio stations did not think the music
was worth playing because journey was nothing more than a cover band, the
album did not sell at all during it's first few weeks of release when it
was being played on the radio there were very few requests for for higher
place so there was no need to promote something that would never sell any
way the only way journey could survive is to allow steve perry to take over
the band and send steve augeri back where he belongs:the minor leagues.

Atlanta=worth the trip
The Atlanta Benefit concert was truly a special concert. The venue was basically
sold out--15,000+. It started with some all-star types of bands with members
from Styx, Waite, REO, Johnny Winter played, etc.(no Journey yet). Then they
got into the major bands in the following order: Waite, REO, Bad Company,
Journey, Styx, & Leonard Skynard. In between the sets there were acoustic
sets from various artists. Journey did an unbelievably priceless acoustic
version of Trial By Fire and Liberty. Steve was amazing. He dedicated it
to one of the NYC fire companies. A very touching moment. I won't go into
all the other bands--but they were great. The audience was pretty into Leonard
Skynard, so not a typical Journey audience, but they still got into the classics.
Journey's set began just like the Vegas tape--in the dark, Neal guitar then
into Separate Ways. Steve was working the crowd and they responded--even
though at least a couple people seemed to think he was just Steve Perry who
had gotten better looking. In my opinion Steve was best on Lovin, Touchin',
Squeezin'. I don't know how this Italian white boy can sing the blues like
that, but he can. They were only on about 45 mins because there were so many
bands. Steve also sang a little acoustic thing with Kevin Cronin and some
Styx guys. At the end all the bands come out and do God Bless Amercica--then
confetti falls down on the audience! Great ending. It was a great show that
earned lots of money for charity and Journey was great. Drew Carey was kinda
cool too. I'm glad I did not try to make Dallas too, though because Atlanta
went on from 3:30 pm to midnight and I am sick of traveling!

Taped for Future Airing
Connie--you know I was really hoping it was taped for future airing, but
no one said anything about it at the show. The video seemed more complicated
than it normally is at the concerts with fading shots, etc. and the camera
people were really going to great lengths to get super shots. Even though
I was 6th row I kep looking up at the screens to see what the shots were
because they were so good. I don't think it was Journey's crew videotaping
it--at least I didn't recognize them. It would make a great video, especially
if the money could go to charity. Journey had a couple audio glitches--some
kind of feedback briefly, but that could probably be fixed in post-production.
Some of the other acts, like Edgar Winter & Styx, also had a few audio
problems. I am hoping for a tape! Maybe they could take the best of the Atlanta
and Dallas shows and release them--that would be very cool! I think a lot
of the other benefits are being released on tape & CD.

Yes, I think there are some people who cared about the concerts in Atlanta

cared. I think the NY Port Authority Officers who addressed the crowds at
both shows cared, as did their fallen brother's families. I think the NYC
Fire Dept. cared that the concerts honored their fallen brothers. I think
the families of the victims for whom these concerts were held cared about
the concerts. You should be ashamed of yourself for trivializing the efforts

to honor the victims of the 9/11 tragedies and to raise money for the families
of the victims. What have you done for anybody lately except create

And What is Reality Now?
Yes, friends - what is our reality now? We have all found ourselves to be
vulnerable. We never expected that. We have all found that we can collectively
care in public and that is no disgrace, nor is it an unmanly thing to weep.
It is not bizarre to hug a stranger - to say a kind word, to care. What is
our reality now? We all contribute at whatever level we can. We lift our
voices in song - if we can. We appreciate those who do? We listen even more
closely for words that we did not hear before with new ears and the words
have new meaning. We appreciate each other more. We thank those who take
the time to share and vicariously enjoy that which we cannot get to as easliy
as before. We stop to listen and to say what we think from the heart. We
awaken from the typical bustle of the day and are appreciative that we have
a chance for another day - and hope that we make the world better by having
that day. We do some of those things that we said that we would some day
get around to. This is our reality now. It matters not who sings better -
but that they sing at all. We remember to say thank you . . . you are appreciated
. . . I can help . . . That is a small part of reality now.

I just read on the REO site that the Benefit Concerts in Atlanta and Dallas
raised even more money than they expected! That's great news. All the bands

should be very interesting. It airs this Sunday 10/28--I'll be watching.

How cool is that!!!!!
It is so great that more money was raise than expected. Everyone who gave
their time down to the fans who went to the concerts should feel great about
what they have accomplished together. I will be taping the VH1 BTM, I have
a holloween party to go to for my son. The party should be cute but I will
keep thinking about getting home to watch the show. It will be interesting
to see the expanded version. Thanks for letting us know LA!

In the gutter, with the other musical garbage . Sold about 140,000 copies.

Don't Blame Sony
I see all the regulars are blaming sony for arrival not selling but the way
i see it is people are just not interested in journey without steve perry
at least new music anyway i thought arrival was ok and i saw journey in syracuse
this year and the new music got a luke warm reaction most people just wanted
to hear the old stuff which is acceptable because the new guy sounds just
like perry.I can't see sony or any other record label supporting another
release without perry and i think another tour with augeri would fail. It's
time for journey to either pack it in or bring in perry for the tour weve
all been waiting for.

To The Truth
The Truth - "the new guy sounds just like perry" If he sounds just like Perry,
then why do they need Perry back??? SA's singing all the songs that Perry
did, sounding just like him, you said so yourself. So why bring back Perry
& all his baggage??? And I don't know about you, but I'm not getting
any younger & really don't want to wait 3-4 years to see if a tour with
Perry would ever come true. At least we know SA can tour & is willing
to tour. And as for the new material getting a lukewarm reception, that is
because probably most of the crowd had not heard it. I know when I see a
concert & the band plays a new song I'm usually more laid back, listening
to the song, trying to catch the words. Just because I'm not jumping up &
down doesn't mean I don't like it.

STEVE AUGERI is great for Journey.....
For one simple fact that Joruney actually was able to go out and play the
music that we love.. Since Mr Augeri sounds like Steve Perry that makes it
all the better, because he does the classics how they should be done and
the Arrival CD had a more edgy sound to it. If you are not sold yet on Augeri's
quality then purchase the DVD and a Tall Stories CD......you will be won
over! :) We don't dislike Perry at all.. Its just that most people have to
grow up and realize he is not going to be back for a long while if ever..

Some of these posts make me cringe
I am a Perry fan, but I would NEVER come to another board and behave the
way some so-called fans have here. The person or people who are calling other
people names and using foul language do NOT represent the multitude of Perry's
fans. Many, like myself, have come to accept Steve Augeri as the new lead
singer, and think that he's doing a fine job of keeping the torch lit, so
to speak. I take offense at the people who lump all Perryheads with the few
who take delight in making trouble. I would never condone such behavior,
and I'm sure that Steve Perry would feel the same way. Those of you that
have seen me on other boards know that I have been supportive of the band,
and have not said anything that might be interpreted as bashing. I am thoroughly
ashamed of these trolls (yes, that is a good name for them), and wish
whole-heartedly that they would just disappear.

Thanks Joy--Tyketto's Shine is fabulous
Hey Joy--thanks for letting me know about Tyketto's Shine. I just got the
CD today and it is great! The mix is a little Neal Schonish (guitar too loud)
but other than that it's pretty cool. I especially like I Won't Cry. I like
the bluesy ones best. I think SA's voice & style fits those kinds of
songs better than the ballads. I wish Journey would do more of the bluesy
ones and maybe forget the Open Arms stuff--time to retire some of those ballads.
Now I have a whole CD of SA singing that is new to my ears. And just in time
for a long drive to San Francisco! Thanks again.

Lucy/Steve/mean people
it's all so sad :( isn't there enough to deal with in the world right now
without all this bad, mean stuff? I mean, I know life goes on, but, 'life'
has been changed , it has, and it's no longer about hatred and condeming
another soul for something so insignificant in YOUR life..yet very significant
in HIS (SA's) life....it's about support and kindness to one another. It's
not about ignoring the fact that terrible things are going on in the world
and the number one priority is pummeling SA with slander and then using vile
language towards those that support him. It's about being happy for your
fellow man when good things shine down. Lord knows that these days good things
are far and few. Stevie A....you've got my support and so does the Journey
domain in it's entirety. To the trolls, go ahead, trash away. Sticks and
stones are the least of mine or anyones worries these days. wasting your
time in vainful attempts to 'hurt' SA is just that, a waste of your time.
It's obvious that your life is empty without Steve Perry. I think you should
spend more time trying to actually FIND Mr. Perry rather than dragging yourself
around on the edge of his septic tank. Lucy....I miss you. Please let us
know you are okay. Friendship never ends, no matter what is going on. NO
MATTER WHAT! Steve.......I hate to ask, but, could you please pass the yams

to pick us all up off our pittiful bottoms. I for one know that I will be

VH1
I was happy to see the bands original keyboardist and co-founder, Gregg
Rolie participate in the special. JC: Gregg was a pioneer. Gregg had a lot
of vision in the early days sitting down with Santana and taking a Peter
Green song and fusing from the street a totally bad hombres version of Santana.
What he did in Santana for a white boy was amazing. You gotta look at that
and go, Wow! That happened way back in the very beginning. When
you think about funk, you think about Tower Of Power. When you think about
Latin rock, you think about Santana. And Gregg was certainly at the helm
of that and his influences were strong. Did you learn anything about ex-lead
singer, Steve Perry after seeing him interviewed for the special? JC: No,
I didnt learn anything. It was the same story pretty much. It was very
shocking for him to publicly admit something that I think was an issue when
I joined the band and that was that he never felt like a member, which was
just the most ludicrous thing I ever heard. For him to have actually said
that aloud certainly he thought that and I knew he thought that but I
didnt think hed ever make a public statement. I wonder why he
always felt like an outsider? JC: Its tough. You have to look at where
he came from, his family, his mom passing away. Its hard for me to talk
for him. I can only tell you that he refused to accept Journey as a family
entity and Neil (Schon) and (Gregg) Rolie really didnt want a lead
singer in the beginning. If you watch the special really carefully you can
see (Journey manager) Herbie (Herbert) call that shots and overrule what
Gregg and Neil really wanted. Remember when he said, I dont care
what you guys want; hes in the band. Did you miss that? No, I
didnt. JC: Well, that was a big piece of the puzzle right there. From
the very beginning, Gregg and Neil really liked what they were doing and
didnt want to be what Herbie wanted to be. But for their own existence
and for Journeys survival they had to change with the times. And the
times were a singer of magnitude ala Boston and all these other bands, Kansas,
Foreigner. They all had singers of pretty good chops, so enter Steve Perry.
I think maybe thats one of the things. Maybe there was that underlying
Well put up with you kind of thing. I dont know.
I sensed it when I joined the band. He had created this dynasty of excellence
in his singing and style. He really cut out a territory for himself that
was his and his alone and no one could dispute that. No one in the camp at
my entrance gave any indication that he was any less than an integral part
of the unit. I never felt from Herbie that he was less than mega important.
I think Herbie was always square with him; Herbie was always fair to him.
He shared everything with the band; he was a member of that band. So thats
the part that was amazing to me. Herbie made him, twenty, thirty million
dollars and for him to say that he wasnt a member is kind of strange.
Why do you feel Journey never got the respect they deserve from critics?
JC: Part of the thing had to do with having a Top 40 hit. When you have a
hit in the Top 40 and it succeeds in going Top 10 its almost a kiss
of death in the rock world. We had many hits. We used to dabble in many places
and it was probably because we werent afraid to try different things.
We were raised on radio that went from rock to ballads to soul. We didnt
want it to be the same mantra on the whole album. So a lot of our albums
were full of different colors. Thats why Escape was so successful.
I dont think rock bands before that would take a shot with a song like
Open Arms. Theyd go, Man, what are we going to do
with this? Most bands would be scared to death to put that out because
of their rock credibility, quote unquote. But in the end a great song is
a great song. In Journey we were kind of like Rod Stewart and (Frank) Sinatra
in the sense that if a great song came into our camp it was going on the
album. So we werent so concerned with styling and posturing and our
image. We were more excited about getting our songs on the radio and being
a success and having that experience of having a hit. (Steve) Perry and I
were really hit driven. We were sort of crazy; if we didnt have a hit
we werent happy. He and I were obsessed back in the Eighties that we
would indeed have a hit single. And thats why the critics hated us
because we were very, very in love with radio. So we kind of just did that
and thats what made it fly for us. We saw the power that it had for
us. It separated us from these other bands, especially when you have a singer
like Steve Perry who can sing a love ballad, someone who belongs in an arena
singing a love ballad. So thats being what you are on one hand and
reaching for the sky on the other hand. Im sure a lot of bands didnt
think like we thought but that was our mindset at the time. And Neil Schon
was taken back by the whole hit thing. He was the rocker. He was the fireside
of our stuff. He put himself in these songs and slowly became part of the
sound. So now accepting this twenty years later, he has to realize that he
actually helped pioneer something like this. We were just a street band that
was in love with making radio records, thats all (laughs).

The 1980's
Hey little Troll, you actually have a minor point about moving out of the
1980's. After hearing Neal at the Fillmore--that man has so much more talent,
range and versatility than anything he can show in performing the Journey
classics over & over. Listening to SA sing Livin' To Do, Lovin' Touchin'
Squeezin', I Won't Cry--that man has so much more talent, range and versatility
than what he can show in singing Faithfully again & again--even if it
is a great song. I am hoping Journey can get to the point where they switch
the ratio at a show--10% classics & 90% new material. I am not sure that
is financially feasible when a tour is sponsored by VH1 Classics, but I am
ready for it and so are a lot of other fans. So, troll, I'm with you on moving
out of the 80's.

A major thank-you to Steve
I had the absolute pleasure of spending some time with Steve in Reno talking
to him about his life and family. It was absolutely a memory I will carry
forever. He is the most genuine compassionate man in a business that does
not always favor that attitude. I just happen to come to the this site and
I must say that it seems like alot of time is wasted on the computer at many
sites just being ignorant, if a person does'nt care for someone why do they
waste energy on negativity. I love Steve Perry as well and respect his right
to live his life as he sees fit, Steve Augeri did not care for the people
who were running him done, it shows a complete lack of inteligence. If it
were not for the circumstances that happened to Steve Perry Steve Augeri
would still be working at the Gap, but instead as he said to me he is finally
able to achieve his life long dream, to sing and sing he does I went to three
concerts this summer and have the best pictures the best hugs and the very
best memories that will take me All The Way Faithfully music should be positive
and make you feel good about life not negative, so when I read negative posts
at different places I feel nothing but empathy for those whose lives have

VFA Video
Cindy--regarding a video from the VFA shows at Dallas and Atlanta, I think
there is good news. Kevin Cronin is posting on his website (www.kevincronin.com)
that there is video in the works for the VFA shows! He didn't give any details,
just said it was happening, so hopefully it will show up soon. I know I will
be buying it.

French Venus,
There are alot of Perry fans on this forum. Thanks for some common sense
in the world of Perry fans. We just don't worship him as some people do.
All of us must answer for our actions no matter how loud we curse, attack

The more things change.... D, Joy, G, Amber, Nunz, 49er... I tell ya, if
it weren't for you and a FEW others I wouldn't even bother. All of this
Augeri/Perry sucks crap. Hey here's a novel idea, start your own message
board and then you can discuss the finer points of suckiness amongst yourselves.

BTM-Director's Cut
So did everyone catch VH1 Behind the Music Director's Cut last night? We
all owe a little thanks to Liz Cain, I think for having that Tall Stories
CD around. Now what is this about SA swearing at Neal when he called? Never
heard that version before--HA! Nice that SA was allowed to finish a couple
sentences this time around. I still would like to hear a little more about
SA and anything about Deen, but their stories are happy ones and don't quite
fit the tortured format of these BTMs. This BTM at least makes the story
of the band a little bit more understandable, although I still think there
is a lot more to the saga than we will ever hear. They just need Herbie back
is all I can say.

Caught the BTM show last night 10.28 Loved it.. finally some "answers" instead
of sound bites.. Maybe the critics of Journey will lighten up a bit.. As
I always SAY>> JOURNEY was NEVER STEVE PERRYS to say "don't fracture"
AS it was never-- ever Perrys Band.. Jon and Neal made the correct call by
going after Augeri.. He ROCKS.. Can't wait for CD #2. Just hope we dont have
to wait for three years.. Rick

BTM
I liked this BTM (I liked the other one also). I learned a lot about the
the band in the beginnig that I did not know before. I thought that the part
how Liz had the Tall Stories CD was good, I had never heard that before either.
My husband watched the last 45mins with me and it helped him change his mind
(just a little bit) about the new line up. He was not for it, but he is not
much of a Journey fan either. Now maybe he will listen to Arrival with me
sometime (I am not holding my breath). I may start him out with Tall Stories
first. I wish they would have had some more of Deen, but it was really cool
that SA had more time this time around. Thanks LA Woman for telling us about
Neal and the Trichromes (did I get that ok) I will be watching the OC venues
let me know if you see anything for LA.

BTM Comments
I found this show to be enlightening. Actually, I was able to understand
better some of the comments that are made by the militant Steve Perry followers,
but I think that Steve Perry obviously made his own decisions and created
the atmosphere that brought about that final decision by Jon and Neal to
go ahead with a new voice at the front. I enjoyed the insights. I also thought
that one of the comments by LAWoman - was very telling: . . .but their stories
are happy ones and don't quite fit the tortured format of these BTMs . .
. Actually there are no evident dead bodies, no tortures with heroin, no
bizarre behaviors, just the desire to make good music - and having made good
music, taking it on the road. Just a brief look at Deen and Steve A. Could
have tolerated more of that, but perhaps the light is too bright there, and
the days are too joyful. Again, thanks for posting the date of the BTM on
this discussion board so we can all be aware and watch! I too add my thanks
to Steve Augeri and Deen who made this time a happy time and who dared to
sing the words: . . ."Empty words, and promises made Im not that way
Broken trust... A failure in faith Im not that way Im not that
way Cause lifes too short for wastin Wastin precious
time" . . . Thank you all!

Jumping into the fray
Rick, don't take this as a flame but I don't recall Perry stating it was
his band in referance to the "don't fracture Journey" comment... I do recall
Jon saying "Here's this guy... Neal wanted his band back". If anything Journey
was Herbie's band. He set out to structure a band around Neal Schon, which
he did & up until a point he controlled the band... and the rest, as
they say is history. Bottom line what is done is done & regardless of
what Perry, Neal, Jon or my grandmother did in the past, it all brings us
to where we are now. Waiting to hear word of what is next up for the band,
this is just my opinion I could be wrong... BTW, why are we talking about
who's band it is anyhow on a message board designated to discussion of Steve
Augeri? (OK Krista why even ask a completely pointless question) Off to get
out that copy of Tall Stories, damn TV show, been singing Wild On The Run
all day now!

BTM.....
After watching the BTM #2, I thought it was much better than the first
one,,,,,,,,,,although, I wished they had given Steve A and Deen a little
more time. The feeling I got after listening to Steve talk about the Gap
and his job there, was one of total respect. I get this feeling that he is
so down to earth.......just a kind of guy that appreciates all that is given
to him in life......and in this day and age, that is hard to find!! Deen
always brings a smile to my face.........he reminds me of someone who, no
matter how dark and gloomy it is outside......he always shines....

Tall Stories
OMG, all this talk about Tall Stories brought up such a happy memory for
me. 49er, G, Krista, Donna (Double D & Amber I think were off tanning
or burning, LOL), remember Amber's front yard, August '99. Front door wide
open, us blasting Tall Stories from the stereo, the weird looks from neighbors
like we'd overtaken the "B" household. Ahhhh, it don't get much better than
that. And it's a memory that's etched in my mind for all time.

Hi Krista.. no problem.. no water needed.. you make valid points.I guess
my biggest gripe with Perrys comments was that he said not to FRACTURE JOURNEY's
name....To me the current line up does not fracture the name and group Journey
at all.. which is what many of Perry only followers think is going on because
to them Mr. Perry can do no wrong and take what he says literally.. as Both
sides of the argument are passionate about the musc we all LOVE. again MHO
only..

How can you say that the Perryheads think Perry does no wrong? Was it Neal
that said on BTM that they let Perry run the band?So i would think that with
Neal and the rest of the band are as much at fault. In being a Perryhead,i
think Perry is as much to blame as the rest of the band.Would you think so?It
takes two to fight and if you wonna be fair why is Jon , Neal and Ross going
against Perry?they have what they want now and thats control over the band.So
now that they have that, why don't they just leave things alone and go on
with their band.

Oh Joy, how much fun that was sitting in the sun in sunny California!! That
was when I first heard Mr Augeri's other cd's. Now, I can't get them away
from the Mr.!!! All I can say is that MR SA has taken my Journey a little
farther down the road and a little longer in my life. For this I greatly
appreciate every moment more that "our Journey" keeps on going. Oh and Yes

To Fried Eggs, Niner Winer and my Joifriend.....the memories do not get ANY
better than that. You all are my dearest friends and confidants...for a life
time ;) The front yard memories (among many) are memories that kept me afloat
during a particularly difficult time in my life and for that, I am ever greatful.
It is YOU girls that are my true friends......girls rock :) There is a girl
that specially brought me up from the snake pit...thank you my dear one :)
And a Tall story that was such a surprise...MY GIRL KC shows her BEAUTIFUL
face! SURPRISE AMBAH!!!!! How much taller and much happier can one get????????
My dearest dearest friend decides to walk thru my front door...and I met
her on a Journey Board.... Talk about a HOME full of LOVE. WOW.... i was
overcome with the most beautiful love that one band could ever bring to a
human girl in her entire life time! I am BEYOND blessed with the most desired
and ENVIED friendships that any could ask for...and I thank you Steve A and
the Journey Camp. Without Journey, I would never have met such a rock solid
support group in my life. It WILL go on without Journey, but, I could not
have gathered a finer group of loved ones than the ones that JOURNEY shared
with me :) Tall Stories....my neighbors still tell me stories of you all
in my yard while Dee and I snuck some sunny moments. I smile and cry as I
hear the love and the sweetness that you guys brought to my home :) Speaking
of TALL STORIES, those stories are THE tallest in my mind...forever. I love
you guys. The pictures are etched. Especially the one that you took of my
Chynna Girls Shampooed Bootie, Karen :)))) Thank you Steve A and the Augeri
family AND the Journey family for the most memoriable, most loved times of
my life. You are right my Joifriend....it NEVER gets better than times with
my friends and times with Journey ...times that STEVIE A brought us :)

steve augeri is a good singer, but a mediocre replacement for steve perry.
it was a less than honorable thing that the other members of journey did

The Friendships that Journey Built
I just wanted to chime in on the "love fest" going on here. Through the love
of this band's music, some of the very strongest friendships have been forged.
Without this band - brought back to life with the able help of Steve Augeri
- I would have never have had the opportunity to meet and get to know some
of the best people that I have ever known. Through this band and the
relationships I've made because of it, I've now got one hell of an extended
family. I know that any one of these people would do anything a member of
my family would do for me. The love is unconditional and true. I cherish
every single memory that we've all made together, in the presence of this
band and on our own. I look forward to the next time we all can get together
and laugh and cry and enjoy each other's company. I miss each one of you,
and you know who you are. Thank you Journey for extending my family beyond
the border of genetics. We may not be related, but dammit, we're a family.

Oh to hear Liberty Live! My new wish! What a great, passionate song that

else that has come to my life...again.......this band, in it's own way, as,
always, has helped to heal me....Thank you guys. I can only hope it will
help us all. TURN IT UP....HEAR the words and FEEL the meaning. ~~~~See the
mountains.....with my lady.....as the eagle.....and the golden sky towers
over purple majesty.....in the mountains.....is the freedom....there's a
river.....you can hear it say ~from the delta flows the liberty~ {!!!!!!GO
NEAL GO!!!!!!} As the twilight of evening is broken....lace and silver and
starlight unfolding .....round and round in a web of emotion, words of love
sometimes meant to be spoken, nothing equals the sea of emotion, her desire
sets the wheels into motion, we all agree, we live to be free, they can't
tell us...they can't tell us, how to be......WE, We all agree, YOU individually,
We the people, share the power, oh....Liberty......

Yes, I like it too! Maybe Trolls Holy Month starts before ramadan..(they
always want to take away another group's thunder you know) I hope the kayak
is filled with wine and cheese, then we can have a party without all the
cheesy whiners (badaboom). It decided to be the southwest's version of winter
yesterday ,and since the furnances aren't on I got to have a nice fire in
the fireplace while I finished the clay for the art show. Very pleasant!
Now..if I didn't have to return to work today, it would be even better. Have
a nice weekend all you with normal M-F 9-5 jobs.

Ah, still peaceful
So nice and peaceful here still. I still say the trolls are in jail. Beautiful
out here in the S. Cal. area, too. Vicky--I'm sure others will disagree,
but you are not missing much by missing the east coast winters. I was a
midwest/east coast girl until a couple years ago and I DO NOT miss all that
snow and cold. The drawback to S. California is there is year-round yardwork
to do--which I plan to do this long holiday weekend (what was I thinking
buying a house with a big yard?). I think I'll blast some Arrival in my backyard
and get to work. Everyone have a great SA-filled, troll-less weekend. And
I hope the SA family is relaxing and having some fun. Do they have big yards
in Brooklyn?

Comparisons
Artificial arm? I bet that's the first time you've ever been compared to
that, huh, Steve? Well, best not to compare, but if I had to, I'd say you
are more like the leaves in spring. The band had been dormant through a frosty
season and if you hadn't come around with some new growth the whole thing
would have died.

Not a popular move...but...
President Bush should level Afghanistan. Remember WW2 when Truman dropped
the atomic bombs on Japan? How many American lives do you think that saved?
And before you start talking about the innocent people in Afghanistan, remember,
it was Bush who bent over BACKWARDS to keep the civilian casualties at a
minimum and helped the refugees with the food drops. They were burned by
the Taliban and many of the Afghan people. It's time to drop a biggie on
that country! Sounds harsh? Well let's replay the footage of Sept. 11 a few
dozen times to snap us awake again!!!!

Nutshell
Hey folks--to those of you who don't get around the web--here is the Journey
news in a nutshell. The DVD/VHS Journey Live 2001 is available for pre-order
on CDNow.com ($11.98 VHS & $13.99 DVD--quite reasonable, I'd say) release
date 12/11--can't wait! Journey's Blind Date episode is supposed to air 11/14
(syndicated so have to check your listings). I, unfortunately do not get
a channel that gets that show--so please watch someone--SA undoubtably said
something nice to the couple. Jon will autograph CDs bought at his online
store www.jonathancain.com (bought a couple myself). Neal is on the prowl
with the Trichromes--recording & playing shows www.trichromes.com. Gregg
Rolie is out and about playing shows www.greggroliecom. Now, our own dear
Steve is hopefully relaxing with his family (or doing a little writing?),
but relaxing seems hard to do in NYC lately. Lots of positive vibes being
send NYC's way. Stay safe, SA & family.

Hey thanks LA WOman for letting us know where to get the video. I don't have
much time to surf the net all day. I will definately be getting my copy on
VHS. I am a bit dissapointed it being the same concert I already have from
Direct TV but they say it will contain more footage... I am sure I will enjoy
it all the same! I love Steve Augeri! Glad he is doing well and safe in NY!

For the idiot that said lets drop a nuke and kill millions of people because
that would equal 7k lives....I pray for you. As a 7 generation military man,
I would go after Bin Laden's ass in a heart beat. But, to kill innocent thousands
because they did so...that is where my anger turns towards you and I realize
that we have fanatics on both sides of the ocean. I LOVE Journey for their

Hey back at you,
It is somewhat quiet in Journeyville so what do you want to talk about? I
think it great that Steve had the opportunity to see ground zero and present
some of the money that was raised. Has anyone preordered their DVD/Video
yet? I am going to just haven't done it yet. I saw at BT on the same thread
as the info for the DVD that you can get a discount of either $5 or 15% on
top of the 30% discount that CDNOW is already giving. That is worth checking
out. Has anyone seen the Blind Date yet? It won't be on here until 6:00 PM
tonight. I am taping it because I will be cooking dinner at that time. LA
Woman I saw that you can't find the chanel on Direct TV, I could send you
the tape. I owe you a favor back for the tape you sent me so I'd be happy
to do it just email me. Hmmmm what else can I go on about? Oh I know Ragin
about those intrest rates, are they really that good? I have a 7.5% on my
morgage how long will I have to keep my home for the cost of refinancing
to pay off for me any idea? Well I think I filled my quota of space for now.
Oh one last thing EVERYONE GO AND GIVE BLOOD! If you gave after 9/11 it should
be time for you to give again. I'm going Saturday before I pick my mom up
at the airport (that is if she gets on the plane, she is a little shakey
on it now). The Redcross always needs blood! Take care everyone!

Hey--Vicky & Eh J
Hey Vicky--I might take you up on that tape of Blind Date--if it is any good.
How long is Journey on? I was at that show when they taped it--Frampton talked
about the couple, but I never did see them in the audience. *****Now, Eh
J--what are you complaining about? HA! I sent you that nice tape of BTM/DC--and
I still have no packages from Canada--what's up with that? And what are all
these "old" references? Neal is older than me--are you calling him old??
BTW I spent half the day trying to get tickets to Neal's Trichromes show
on 12/1. The problem is that a bunch of Deadheads seem to be in charge of
things and, sorry, but too many trichromes over a long period of time scrambles
your brains.

Vicky in HB,
There are horrible rumors going around that the rates have to be 1 % lower
than your current in order to save $ by refinancing. This is total bull.
What matters is how much money will it save you and your family each month
or will it cut your mortgage term by a few years if you refi? I make no
commission at the bank but, be weary of any mortgage company as these guys
get paid on commission. Alot of companies are offering 5 % rates but, their
APR (annual percentage rate, which is the actual amount that you are paying
for the loan can be 12% if not higher)! The apr shouldn't be any higher that
1 % above your interest rate. Besides asking about the APR, ask about any
prepayment penalties, is it a fixed rate (do not get a balloon note unless
you plan on selling the home before it balloons), and how many discount and
origination points? Louisiana law allows for 10 points or $10,000 in fees
on a $100,000 mortgage. A point is a point so, ask how many origination and
discount points the company is charging. If you ask these questions and get
in writing, most companies will not try to trick you as they may even think
that you are a federal or company auditor! How do you get all of the discounts
on the DVD????!!
