Yes, it's the real thing. Chris Carter's signature. I was able, by a stroke of luck and a few bucks, to acquire a press kit for the first X-Files video and the CD, "Songs in the Key of X," that had been taken to an official X-Files party.
The following cast and crew were there to sign this box: Chris Carter, obviously, David Duchovny (I also have a second signature on a Wizard ½ comic)-Fox Mulder, Gillian Anderson (as with Duchovny, I have a second autograph on the comic)-Dana Scully, Mitch Pileggi (I met him in person at the Burbank X-Files convention so I have a second autograph in my "Official Guide to The X-Files")-Walter Skinner, Mark Snow-does the music, Peter Boyle (he wasn't at the party, but he was at the Burbank convention, so I had him sign the box...I also had him sign an 8x10 glossy)-Clyde Bruckman, Charles Nelson Reilly (on an 8x10 glossy, only)-Jose Chung, Bruce Harwood (in my 'Guide)-John Fitzgerald Byers (of the Lone Gun Men), Vince Gilligan (on the box and in my 'Guide), Frank Spotnitz (in my 'Guide), John Shiban (on the box and in my 'Guide), Nic Lea (on my box and in my 'Guide)-Alex Krycek, Erika and Sabrina Krievins (again, they weren't at the official party, but they were at the Burbank convention)-Eves, William B.
