More than a system. It's a way of life.
What's a DAGOBAH? Sure it's Yoda's home planet in StarWars. It's also a repository for relics of Buddha. But to us, it's the Davenport Area Gathering of Books and Humanoids. We are a science fiction and fantasy book discussion group that meets the second Monday of every month at the Davenport Public Library. We address such varied topics as Feminism in Science Fiction, Cloning, Robots and Androids, Science Fiction Utopias, Post-Haulocost Science Fiction, and Our Love/Hate Relationship With Robert Heinlein. Annual favorites include DAGOBAH at the Movies, a swap meet, and Science Fictionary- A Phannish Game.
DAGOBAH Members attend science fiction conventions and have designated ourselves the Gamesters of Iowa. We host Phannish game shows for two of our favorite midwest conventions, DemiCon and ICON.
