EZTIE - NEW SHOE TYING DEVICE

WHAT IS AN EZ-TIE?

The EZ-TIE (Patent Pending) is a hand held device that enables people with limited fine or limited motor skills, or a severe hand injury to tie their shoes.

WHO COULD USE AN EZ-TIE?

The EZ-TIE can be used by physically challenged people who may have limited use of a hand due to Cerebral Palsy, a stroke, or by any other illness that may have caused limited use of a hand. It can be used by someone who has suffered a hand injury or may be recovering from hand surgery. The EZ-TIE can be used by an individual who has had a hand amputated (as long as there is enough of the limb remaining to strap the EZ-TIE to). It can also be used by children learning how to tie their shoes.

HOW DOES THE EZ-TIE WORK?

The EZ-TIE is either held by, or strapped to, the affected hand. A simple "bunny ear" loop is made and then inserted into the EZ-TIE which holds it in place. By following a few simple steps, a bow knot is formed, thus tying the shoe.

HOW HARD IS THE EZ-TIE TO USE?

The EZ-TIE can be mastered in a very short time and it is very simple to use. An instructional video is provided.

HISTORY OF THE EZ-TIE

The EZ-TIE was invented for our 12 year old daughter who was born with Cerebral Palsy. She is affected on the left side of her body. After many mornings of watching her struggle to tie her shoes, the EZ-TIE was invented.

OTHER BENEFITS OF THE EZ-TIE

The EZ-Tie helps boost the self-esteem of people who are physically challenged. Being able to tie one's own shoe is another step towards independence. Velcro closure shoes are difficult to find in older childrens sizes and in adult sizes. Many of the popular "famous brand name" tennis shoes do not come with Velcro closures.
