MAN AT THE CROSS
ROADS
DMatt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
ILL: Life Is A Life Of Decisions! When men come to the “cross
roads” of life .. There are Choices that must be made and these choices
will determine where we will spend our ... Time and Eternity.
You Might Call It the FINAL CHOICE ... or the ULTIMATE CHOICE.
MOSES SAID: Deut 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day
against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
JOSUHA SAID: Josh 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the
LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the
Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve
the LORD.
JERMIAH SAID: Jer 21:8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith
the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
ELIJAH SAID: IKing 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and
said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him:
but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
According To Jesus: A Choice Must Be Made!
1. Verse 13-14 Two Gates Wide and Strait.
2. Verse 13-14 Two Ways Broad and Narrow.
3. Verse 13-14 Two DestinationsLife And Destruction.
4. Verse 13-14 Two Kinds Of Travelers Few and Many.
5. Verse 17-19 Two Kinds Of Trees Good and Corrupt.
6. Verse 17-19 Two Kinds Of Fruit Good and Evil.
7. Verse 24-29 Two Kinds Of Houses On The Rock and Sand.
I. NOTICE THE
CAUSEWAY.
{“highway, road, path”}
Verse#13 ...”Enter ye in AT the STRAIT GATE, for WIDE is the
GATE..”
Verse#14 .. Because STRAIT is the GATE, and...”
Two Gates and Both ROADS look as tho they may GO TO HEAVEN.
(a). The Broadway Of
Sin.
Verse#13 ...”BROAD is the way, that LEAETH to DESTRUCTION”
2 Cor 4:3-4 ..But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

(b). The Blood Bought Of
Salvation.
Vr#14 ...”strait is the gate”...
Act’s 4:12 “There is no other Name under heaven .. be saved”
John 14:7 “I am the way, the truth, and the life...no man come...”
John 10: Jesus Said ... I AM the DOOR .... I AM the BREAD OF LIFE.
Vr#13 “Enter Ye in at the strait gate”, ... You MUST ENTER through God’s
GATE. {Narrow Is The Way = Indicates One At A Time.}
II. NOTICE THE
CONSEQUENCES.
Matt 7:13 .... “broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there
be which go in there at:”
Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth
unto life, and few there be that find it.
(a). The Consequences Of The
Careless.
Verse#13 ....”that leadeth to DESTRUCTION”
1. The Invitation ... Is Whosoever Will ... let Him come.
2. The Excuses ... Luke 14 ...And they all with one consent began
to make EXCUSE.
3. The Destination ... Luke 16: “and in HELL he lifted up his
eyes”
Prov 14:12 and Prov 16:25 There is a WAY which SEEMETH RIGHT unto a MAN,
but the END thereof are the WAYS of DEATH.
(b). The Consequences Of The
Converted.
Vr#14 ...”the WAY which leadeth unto LIFE”...
1. The Invitaiton = the Blood Of Jesus.
2. The Repenting = “Lord Be Merciful to me a sinner”
{Repent}
3. The Destination = Heaven.{Eph 2:8-9}
III. NOTICE THE
CROWDS.
Vr#13 ... Many there be... {Works...blind leading the blind}
Vr#14 ....Few there Be..... {Blood ... way}
There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from immanuel’s vens; And
sinners, plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains: The dying
THIEF rejoiced to see That fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile
as he, Wash all my SINS AWAY;
IV. NOTICE
THE CHOICES.
Verse#13 ... “Broad is the Way”...
Verse#14 ... “Narrow Is The Way...”
John 3:18-21 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God. ... And this is the condemnation, that light is
come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their
deeds were evil. ... For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither
cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. .. But he that doeth
truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they
are wrought in God.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
