ABC: Cupid (Fri 10 pm) - Jeremy Piven stars as Trevor Hale, an attractive, sarcastic and irreverant man who claims to have descended from Mount Olympus to be cupid on earth. He tells psychiatrist Claire Allen that he was sentenced to earth to "do time" and his mission is to unite 100 couples without any magic.
They are also bringing back Fantasy Island (Fri 9 pm) with Malcolm McDowell taking over as Mr. Roark. Madchen Amick is Mr. Roark's assistant Ariel. Produced by Barry Sonnenfeld.
Strange World (was Strange Days) - A terminally ill scientist investigates crimes caused by advances in science and technology.
CBS: Early Edition cast changes - Kristy Swanson joins the cast as a single mother who is hired by Gary Hobson to manage his bar when Chuck leaves town to start a new lifein Hollywood. NBC: The Pretender - According to series creator and executive producer Craig Van Sickle, the show will become "a little more adult and ...for lack of a better term a little more darker and edgier."
Profiler changes - Sheik Mahmud-Bey, who plays Marcus Payton, is leaving the show.
FOX: Brimstone (Tue 9 pm) - A dead cop (Peter Horton as Ezekial Stone) strikes a deal with the devil and returns to Earth to hunt down 113 escaped souls wreaking havoc on Earth. It is very dark and touches on a lot of religious themes in the pilot.
The X-Files and Millennium return in their current time slots. Production on the X-Files is moving to Hollywood. Over on Millennium, Frank Black will move to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI and he will team up with a young FBI agent played by Klea Scott. This will likely lead to more possibilities of crossovers with The X-Files.
Futurama - Midseason show from Matt Groenig, creator of the Simpsons. Set in the future with a new cast of characters.
The WB: Charmed (Wed 9 pm) - Three twenty-something sisters discover they possess other-worldy powers.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer will continue in its 8 pm ET/PT time slot. Eliza Dushku joins Buffy in the new season. She'll play Faith, who joins in with the current crew. Rumors are they'll be getting a new recurring villian, Mr. Trick and we'll find out more about the Mayor and Principal Snyder.
Angel - They are planning a spin-off series featuring Angel, which could start as early as mid-season, but is currently planned for Fall 1999. The show would be set in Los Angeles where a second Hellmouth has open and Cordelia will leave Buffy to be a regular on the show with Angel.
UPN: Mercy Point (Tue 9 pm) - Joe Morton, Brian McNamara, Maria Del Mar and Alexandra Wilson star as doctors in a space station hospital. It is set in deep space in a state-of-the-art hospital the serves human and alien species.
Seven Days (Wed 8 pm) - Jonathan Paglia is sent back in time to prevent catastrophes with seven days to accomplish his task. His first task is to prevent the assasination of the United States President, Vice-President and Russian President.
The Sentinel was not picked up for the fall season, but after a fan campaign UPN has ordered 13 episodes for mid-season.
Dilbert - After a failed attempt to do a live action Dilbert last season for FOX, UPN has ordered 13 episodes of an animated version. Voice cast is Daniel Stern as Dilbert, Chris Elliott as Dogbert, Kathy Griffin as Alice, Larry Miller as Pointy-Haired Boss, Jackie Hoffman as Dilbert's Mom, and Gordon Hunt as Wally.
Sci-Fi Channel: Sliders will continue into the fall and a fifth season of 18 episodes has been ordered, although there are various rumors about who of the current cast will continue.
Star Trek - The Original series will debut on the Sci-Fi Channel Tuesday, September 1st and will run Monday - Friday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm ET / 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm PT. The 90 minute slot will allow them to run each episode in its entirety and will also have host segments with Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner as well as interviews with other cast members and guest stars.
Poltergeist: The Legacy - All new episodes (the fourth season) of the one-hour drama about The Legacy, which investigates paranormal activity and battles evil, will debut in January, 1999.
Farscape - The series concerns the exploits of astronaut John Crichton, a man from the present, who, during an experimental space mission, is hurled into an alien world. His quest is to return to earth, but finds himself on a starship filled with escaping political prisoners from different alien cultures. What's more, the characters are from The Jim Henson Company Creature Shop Debuts in January, 1999.
Invasion Earth - The six-hour thriller takes place in Britain over two time periods - World War II and the present, and involves the discovery of a clandestine invasion of Earth since World War II. Humans are also abducted by multi-dimensional aliens. Airs December 6, 7 and 8.
MST3K - Has been picked up for a tenth season of 13 episodes, which will likely start in February.
TNT: Babylon 5 - Series Finale - The final five episodes of the Babylon 5 TV series will air on TNT starting on October 28th. The series finale, "Sleeping in Light", was filmed at the end of the fourth season when it appeared that there wouldn't be a fifth season.
BABYLON 5: The River of Souls - Sunday November 8th An ancient vault filled with relics believed to hold the secret to eternal life. Julie Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, confirmed that Martin Sheen and Ian McShane join series stars Tracy Scoggins, Jerry Doyle, Richard Biggs and Jeff Conaway. Douglas Netter and series creator J. Michael Straczynski will executive-produce the two-hour film from the script by Straczynski.
Babylon 5: A Call to Arms - Sunday, January 3rd, 1999. Fourth Babylon 5 TV movie will bridge the gap between the TV series and the sequel series Crusade. It will introduce the starship Exalibur and guest stars Tony Todd.
Babylon 5: Crusade - Series starts January 6th, 1999. With the threat of the Shadows gone, all is quiet on Earth-- too quiet. An alien race vows revenge for the loss of the Shadows and aims its wrath at humans, unleashing a deadly biogenetic plague. Only five years remain for the inhabitants of Earth unless an Alliance ship, The Excalibur, succeeds in its quest to find a cure for the mutating plague.

Highlander: The Raven - Amanda (The Raven) is a tortured heroine torn between her centuries-old history as a thief and her newfound desire to fight evil. Her spirited and energetic nature often stands in sharp contrast to the world-weary attitude that she has developed through the centuries. Elizabeth Gracen will star as Amanda and her partner will be mortal ex-cop Nick Wolfe.
The Crow: Stairway to Heaven -Eric Dravenreturns from the dead as The Crow and must continue to right wrongs in order to be reunited with his dead lover Shelly in heaven. Detective Albrecht is a policeman Sarah is a street urchin whose final shreds of innocence are being torn away by life in the brutal city. Bryce Zabel (Dark Skies, Lois & Clark) will be story editor and executive producer. Starts the week of September 21st. Total Recall - The Series - (Supposedly will run on Showtime and air in syndication in theFall of 1999). Stars Michael Easton as Investigator David Hume and Cyndy Preston as Olivia Hume.
Stargate SG-1 -Syndicated run starting September 14th. Apparently the Fox Network will be running this in Houston.
Earth Final Conflict: Kevin Kilner will not return and the show may become more episodic. There may be other cast changes as well. There is enough turnaround in the writing staff that when D.C. Fontana contacted them about writing for the second season, they asked for a sample of her work. She wrote an episode for the first season. Duh! Robert Leeshock joins the cast as Liam, who takes over for Boone.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Like last year, the new season will pick up several months after the season finale. Sisko is still on Earth, although not for much longer. Dax will be back as Ezri Dax (Nicole deBoer), a young Trill starfleet officer who didn't intend to be a host, but when problems arise during the trip back to the Trill homeworld, she's the only candidate around. Things will get complicated for Worf and Ezri Dax, as Dax still loves him, but Ezri doesn't want anything to do with him. Sisko will return to the station in a quest to search for the missing Prophets after an assasination attempt on Earth. The conflict will continue with the Dominion, although expect a lot of things to be resolved by the end of the season.
Hercules & Xena: Ted Raimi has been signed for 22 episodes this season. Unknown if they will be all Xena or a few Hercules in the batch. They will do another episode like "Yes, Virginia, There is a Hercules" with the Hercules & Xena cast playing their producers and writers.
Nightman - Johnny's dad won't be back.
