As the pilot accelerates, he captures more air under his canopy and increases his lift. A little throttle is applied to maintain altitude, more to ascend, and idle throttle to descend. Without the motor you may glide to the ground or ride thermals up. If a pilot chooses the electric start option, he or she may stop and start the powered paraglider as many times as they wish during flight. Control of the powered paraglider is easy. To steer, the pilot pulls down on his right toggle to turn right and his left toggle to turn left. These toggles are connected to lines attached to the trailing edge of the canopy. Thus if you pull you right toggle, you create drag on the right side of your airfoil and you turn right. And when you decide to return to the ground, the powered paraglider lands seven times softer and slower than the normal conventional parachute.
