UTILITIESFall River businesses benefit from efficient, inexpensive utility services. Rates for power, gas, sewer and water are among the lowest in Massachusetts, and providers are willing to work with customers to ensure that specific needs are met. Electrical Power Electricity is supplied by Eastern Edison Company (EECO), an Eastern Utilities company. Eastern Edison offers its industrial, commercial and residential customers reliable and competitively priced power and high quality service. EECO offers an "economic development incentive rate" to new and expanding commercial and industrial customers. Businesses using a minimum of 300 kW that secure public-sector financial assistance are eligible for a base rate discount of 15% for the first two years and 7.5% for the second two years. EECO also offers Energy Solutions, an energy efficiency program, which provides incentives for efficient electric equipment. Natural Gas Fall River is served by the Fall River Gas Company (FRGC), a privately held utility headquartered in the city which offers very competitive low and high load factor rates for industrial and commercial users. FRGC now offers commercial and industrial customers its Partners in Energy Program. This conservation and load management program is designed to financially help customers that purchase and install certain energy conservation measures and equipment. The program enables customers to use natural gas efficiently and lower their energy costs.

The city is currently upgrading its sewer system to meet the needs of 21st century industries. Local businesses and residential customers enjoy some of the lowest rates in the state.
