The Amritian On Line May 2000

Monarch's Message

I am happy to report that the basic plans for our upcoming Southwestern Association Convention have been completed. The contracts with the Holiday Inn have been signed, menus finalized and packets of information mailed to all Grotto’s. Sales of advertisements for our program have been going well thanks to the efforts of Prophet Bud Eubanks and Ronnie Merritt. Prophet Bill Givens and his committee are in the process of gathering items for the “welcome bags” Lots of work still remains to be done, and as of this date, we have had two prophets who have said they will serve as greeters. We need several more to greet and assist our guests.

If you missed out on the cookout, you missed a great event. Approximately 30 prophets and their ladies enjoyed hot dogs, chili, baked beans, salads, etc. I would like to extend our thanks to P. M. Burl Fennell and his wife for all the hard work they did to ensure the success of this event.

A reminder to all cast members. We will have a practice on April 25th at 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend, please notify P. M. Fred Stecher. The Spring Ceremonial will be held on Saturday, May 6th. Coffee and donuts will be served at 10:00, and we will open the Grotto at 11:00. Lunch will be served at 12:00 with the ceremonial to follow at 1:00. Please make plans to attend.

Our next friendship dinner will be held on May 10th at 6:30 P.M.. We will meet at Dana’s in Van Buren. These events are always well attended, and everyone really enjoys themselves.

We are still in need of some prophets who would like to learn how be serve as a clown. Prophet Bill Moore and P. M. Ben Bennett have offered their services to conduct the clown school for us. I hope that some of you will come out, learn and enjoy.

The meal for our next meeting will be provided by Ronnie Merritt. I won’t tell you what it will be, but will give you a slight hint. It’s the same dish he and his wife prepared for us last year. So come on out and enjoy. Remember, we will begin serving at 6:30 P.M.

The Past Monarch Club will meet at 6:30 P.M. on May 17th at Belle Point Distributing. All Past Monarchs and Line Officers are invited to attend.
