Make yourself at home, roam through the old house, have a nice cool dipper of water, or just sit and visit with us for awhile.  Yes, I said, "dipper."; if you've never lowered a bucket into a well, hauled it up full of water, filled the dipper, and had a drink of cool, clear, well water ... well, you just haven't lived yet!

The house shown above was the Blevins, AR home of my grandparents, Fred Houston Yates and Stella Agnes Wood. Many a child took a dip in this old pond, some on purpose, some not.

	Please continue the inside tour of our home and feel free to give me any suggestions for improvement.  My name is Earlene Mendenhall Lyle, daughter of Homer Orlando Mendenhall and Opal Ida Yates. I'd LOVE to hear from all of you Wood / Yates relatives!
	Both the Wood and the Yates families migrated to Arkansas  from Georgia. Prior to that, the Woods had lived in South Carolina.  I understood from an elderly Yates aunt that the Yates came from Virginia; census records, however, indicated that they were from North Carolina. EMenden@aol.com
