2:01. PAUL FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (broadcast in USA: September 24 1997) Michael handles the Mayor's divorce and the press question Paul's sanity so Mike enlists a psychiatrist to pronounce Paul sane, but his plans go awry when he unexpectedly commits Paul to an institution.

2:02. PORN IN THE U.S.A. (broadcast in USA: October 1 1997) Nikki and Mike's new girlfriend bond, Paul's mom dazzles his co-workers when she visits the office and an X-rated video vexes the Mayor.  

2:03. WONDER WOMAN (broadcast in USA: October 8 1997) Mike's new girlfriend wants no commitment, James has a mysterious new hobby.

2:04. THE GOODBYE GIRL (broadcast in USA: October 15 1997) Mike discourages the Mayor from pursuing Jennifer, a much younger woman.  However, as he deals with his own relationship troubles, Jennifer makes a pass at him.

2:05. IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY (broadcast in USA: October 22 1997) Whilst jogging, Carter is mistaken for a mugger and is arrested.

2:06. RADIO DAZE (broadcast in USA: October 29 1997) The Mayor agrees to a mock election with a popular shock jock-type DJ. Also stars Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford

2:07. THE THIRTY YEAR ITCH (broadcast in USA: November 5 1997) It's Mike's 30th birthday.  Years earlier he made a pact with a girlfriend... if they were both single on his 30th birthday then they should meet on the roof of the Empire State Building.  The only trouble is... he made the same pact with three other girls and they ALL turn up!! Stars Michael's wife, Tracy Pollan.

2:08. MY LIFE IS A SOAP OPERA (broadcast in USA: November 12 1997) Worlds collide when City Hall meets Pine Valley.  When Mike begins dating Lisa, a writer from the soap opera "All My Children", he starts to see their dating life echoed on episodes of the popular serial.

2:09. FAMILY AFFAIR - PART ONE (broadcast in USA: November 19 1997) Mike's mom, Macy, is visiting for a week and she and the Mayor have hit it off better than Mike ever imagined, or feared.

2:10. FAMILY AFFAIR - PART TWO (broadcast in USA: November 26 1997) Mike must choose between protecting his mom and protecting the Mayor, when he tries to spin the Mayor out of a new scandal.

2:11. THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY (broadcast in USA: December 10 1997) The Mayor's free-thinking daughter with whom he has a somewhat strained relationship, puts the "bare" in bareback when she disrupts a rally with hansom-carriage drivers in Central Park to draw attention to her animal rights stance.  

2:12.  MIRACLE ON 34th STREET (broadcast in USA: December 17 1997) The Mayor inadvertently tells the children of New York there is no Santa Claus, and it then becomes Mike's mission to make them believe again, through the eyes of one little boy.

2:13. SAME TIME NEXT YEAR (broadcast in USA: January 7 1998)  A champagne-fueled New Year's celebration at the Mayor's mansion gets out of control, resulting in more than a little embarrassment the next day, especially for Mike and Nikki.

2:14. THE PAUL LASSITER STORY (broadcast in USA: January 21 1998)  The usually indomitable Mike can't cope at the office because of upsetting news he's unwilling to share - his doctor suspects he has prostate cancer.

2:15. GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT (broadcast in USA: January 28 1998)  Mike tries to talk the Mayor out of joining a private club that prohibits women members.

2:16. DEAF MAN WALKING (broadcast in USA: February 25 1998)  Stacy's grandmother puts a curse on Mike.  Meantime, the Mayor doesn't want to admit he is losing his sense of hearing.

2:17. THE MARRYING MEN - PART ONE (broadcast in USA: March 4 1998)  Mike is delighted when his old flame Laurie steps back into his life.  And, Paul makes plans to propose to Claudia. But when Laurie finds the engagement ring, she thinks Mike is popping the question to her -- and the answer is YES!!

2:18. ONE WEDDING AND A FUNERAL (broadcast in USA: March 11 1998)  While Mike and Laurie accelerate their wedding plans, some of the staffers fantasize, in comic dream sequences, about what their own lives would be like if they married Mike.

2:19.  A RIVER RUNS THROUGH ME (broadcast in USA: March 18 1998)  To show support for the Mayor's anti-drug campaign, Mike proposes that the staff undergo drug testing -- but Mike's sample could be tainted after he unwittingly drinks from a bowl of peyote with a Native American delegation

2:20. THE POPE OF GRACIE MANSION (broadcast in USA: April 1 1998) After the Pope visits City Hall, the Mayor longs to have a similar inspiring effect on his own constituency.  

2:21. BYE BYE BIRDIE (broadcast in USA: April 29 1998) Mike and the staff throw separate bachelor and bachelorette parties for Paul and Claudia, but the festivities run into some "fowl" play when Mike discovers that a new sculpture, commissioned by the city, entitled "The Bird" is not the kind of bird he anticipated.

2:22 THE LADY AND THE TIGER (broadcast in USA: May 6 1998)  Mike finds it impossible to break off with his new magician girlfriend, since she's developed a near-fatal attraction to him. Meantime, Carter and Stuart invest in a nightclub (This episode also includes a small appearance by Michael J. Fox's son, Sam.)

2:23 SINGLE WHITE MALE (broadcast in USA: May 6 1998)  Carter needs to find a roommate, and Stuart lobbies to be considered, since he's just been evicted.  Meantime, a rat is on the loose in City Hall and Mike is determined to eliminate him.

2:24. THE PAUL-BEARER (broadcast in USA: May 20 1998) Mike promises to co-ordinate Paul and Claudia's entire wedding, but on the big day, he discovers that the church is simultaneously booked for a funeral.
