6.01  THE ARRIVAL (Broadcast in USA: September 25 2001) This episode picks up where last season left off, with Charlie continuing to make romantic advances towards Caitlin, but finding his plans foiled when Mike surprises them with a visit. Charlie feels he missed out on a perfect opportunity with Caitlin and he wants to "re-open" the window to establishing their relationship. Meanwhile, the Mayor is engaged in a new relationship with a judge (Farrah Fawcett).

6.02  A TREE FALLS IN MANHATTEN (Broadcast in USA: September 25 2001) A scandal erupts when the Mayor cuts down a tree in front of Gracie Mansion in an attempt to impress his new love interest. To turn the situation around, Mike takes charge and reverts to his workaholic ways. Meanwhile, Charlie and Caitlin are still trying to determine the significance of their relationship.

6.03  WIFE WITH MIKEY (Broadcast in USA: October 2 2001) After Mike tells everyone that Allison has called off their engagement, he throws himself into City Hall business — actually Charlie's City Hall business — and Mike's return to the Mayor's office threatens Charlie's authority. Meanwhile the Mayor prepares to announce his run for reelection — and finds himself having to dress up as a woman for a charity gala — while Carter, Stuart, Paul and Caitlin, upset that Mike's engagement was called off, ponder whether they will ever find love.

6.04  THE APARTMENT (Broadcast in USA: October 9 2001) As the public grows increasingly wary of the Mayor's new relationship with Claire, and it begins to affect his chances of winning re-election, he is forced to find a new place to meet his love … like Charlie's apartment. Meanwhile, Caitlin attends a baby shower with Carter and discovers her overwhelming desire to have a baby, but is unsure if she is ready for the responsibility. Carter encourages her to take care of his dog, Rags, for a day of "motherly" experience, a situation that's bound for disaster.

6:05  YET ANOTHER STAKEOUT (broadcast in USA: October 16 2001) The Mayor's campaign for re-election is blind-sided when his opponent, Julian Wheeler, resorts to dirty politics. Charlie wants to fight fire with fire, so he and Caitlin pull a stakeout and get some dicey photos of Wheeler and his mistress. Meanwhile, Carter is visited by his good friend from high school, Michelle (Lori Loughlin), and asks her to be the surrogate mother of his child — at the same time that Stuart confesses his secret love to her.

6:06  YEAH BABY (Broadcast in USA: October 23 2001) Caitlin and Charlie decide to spend less time together outside the office, as it has impeded them from dating new people. The Mayor brings in a campaign consultant, Robin (Queen Latifah), who also has some psychic abilities — which makes Charlie skeptical of her advising the Mayor. Meanwhile, Michelle announces that she's pregnant — but there's a question as to whether the father is Stuart or Carter.

6:07  SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY (Broadcast in USA: November 6 2001) Charlie reunites with Jennifer (Denise Richards), the opposition's campaign manager, and they resume their steamy affair, which in turn heats up the election. Meanwhile, Paul also finds himself love struck — by Robin (Queen Latifah), the Mayor's new campaign consultant who uses him as her sex-toy.

6:08  SHE'S GOTTA HABIT (Broadcast in USA: November 6 2001) Charlie and Jennifer are celebrating their one-month anniversary when she reveals to him that her former relationship was with a woman. Initially Charlie thinks this is pretty cool — until he detects some flirtation between Jennifer and Caitlin. When Jennifer kisses Caitlin on the lips, his suspicions deepen and his jealousy is aroused. Meanwhile Paul enlists the Mayor's girlfriend, Claire, to preside over the arbitration of his divorce from his ex-wife, who has become a nun.

6:09  THE WEDDING SCAMMER (Broadcast in USA: November 13 2001) Caitlin's mother, Jane (Michelle Phillips), comes to visit when Caitlin tells her she finally has a boyfriend. In a panic, Caitlin enlists Charlie to play the part, and Charlie gets stuck having to attend a family wedding to help her. Meanwhile, Paul's childhood friend-turned-Victoria's Secret model, Rhea Durham, invites Paul and a guest backstage at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Stuart is the lucky attendee and is shocked to find out that Rhea has been in love with Paul all these years, but Paul is not interested.

6:10  FIGHT FLUB (Broadcast in USA: November 20 2001) The Mayoral race hits a snag when Mayor Winston's opponent suffers a heart attack which forces him to drop out of the running. But his wife, Nancy Wheeler, steps in to take his place and surges in the polls due to an outpouring of sympathy. Meanwhile, Charlie gets punched in the face by Caitlin's new love interest and she makes him promise to be the bigger man by not fighting back.

6:11  CHINATOWN (Broadcast in USA: November 27 2001) It is finally Election Day in New York and the mayoral race is a close one, but Mayor Winston feels optimistic and decides to also make this the day to propose to Claire (Farrah Fawcett). Charlie and Jennifer (Denise Richards) also decide the fate of their relationship — was this just an election fling? Meanwhile Paul is sent to help clarify voting ballots at a senior citizen center, but his own confusion makes things worse, and the Mayor decides to start telling only the truth, which may just cost him re-election.

6:12  AN OFFICE AND A GENTLEMAN (Broadcast in USA: December 11 2001) Charlie and Caitlin interview prospective Santas for City Hall and Caitlin agrees to go on a date with one of them before seeing him out of costume. Meanwhile the Mayor gives Charlie the responsibility of assigning a new office to the most deserving employee, which results in everyone trying to bribe or blackmail him. And Stuart's girlfriend, Michelle, tells him she loves him, which makes him unable to have sex with her.

6:13  O MOTHER, WHERE ART THOU? (Broadcast in USA: January 8 2002) Caitlin finds love with an older man, Tom — whose daughter, Tracy, flirts with Charlie. Meanwhile the Mayor is depressed by the anniversary of his mother's death, but Carter introduces him to a woman, Christine, who cheers him up in more ways than one. Later, though, Carter reveals that Christine is the receiver of the Mayor's mother's donor heart, potentially threatening their relationship. .

6.14   RAGS TO RICHES (Broadcast in USA: March 5 2002) Caitlin surprises Charlie on his birthday by inviting his father, Ray (Martin Sheen), for a visit. What no one knows is that Ray is a con man who abandoned Charlie as a child — and who's about to con his way through City Hall as well. Meanwhile, Paul makes every effort to comfort Carter about Rags.

6.15  SEX, LIES AND VIDEO DATE (Broadcast in USA: March 12 2002) The Mayor's niece, Stephanie, pays a visit to City Hall and flirts with Charlie, who reciprocates — until he finds out who she is. Somewhat later he and Caitlin are caught in a compromising position in the Mayor's bedroom, trying to cover up for Stephanie's wild ways. Meanwhile, Mayor Winston and Carter get trapped in a car for hours, leading Carter to vow to give up his materialistic ways if they are saved, and Paul becomes a contestant on the popular dating show, Blind Date.

6.16  EYES WIDE OPEN (Broadcast in USA: March 19 2002) When Carter is unexpectedly called to a late-night meeting, Charlie's left in charge of entertaining Spencer (John Francis Daley), a 16-year-old boy whom Carter sponsors through the "Big Brother" program. Having already had a date planned, Charlie has no choice but to bring Spencer along for the ride. Meanwhile, the Mayor is racked with guilt which is causing him insomnia.

6.17  AGE AGAINST THE MACHINE (Broadcast in USA: March 26 2002) Charlie has a hard time keeping up with Tracy, his new 23-year-old girlfriend who likes to party every night. Caitlin and Paul join them at a club one night and they are all arrested after one of Tracy's friends is caught with marijuana. Meanwhile, the Mayor is invited to a fund-raising gala by a very prominent member of the gay community, Martin, whom Carter has a crush on. Both Carter and Stuart also attend, and Martin hits on Stuart who is clueless to his advances, though they feed Carter's jealousy.

6.18  AN AFFAIR NOT TO REMEMBER (Broadcast in USA: April 9 2002) Caitlin takes a trip down memory lane and realizes that she and Charlie met years before and that he was the reason why she lost what might have been the best relationship of her life. Flashback to a preppy and conservative Caitlin and a cool, life-of-the-party Charlie at an old college bash … The flashback makes Caitlin realize that her current boyfriend, Tom, might not be right for her — and she ends up kissing Charlie! Meanwhile, the Mayor bartends at a fundraiser at which Paul is trying to pick up a woman — and the woman's friend has fallen for Carter, who is gay.

6.19  LET'S GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT (Broadcast in USA: April 16 2002)  Caitlin is confused by the kiss she and Charlie shared and seeks the advice of a therapist. Meanwhile, the Mayor buys the staff palm phones which enable Charlie to accidentally eavesdrop on Caitlin's session; he decides to try to fulfill Caitlin's fantasies, which in turn prompts her to decide between Charlie and her current boyfriend, Tom; and Paul appears on a controversial radio talk show — with Carter feeding him answers.

6.20  LOOK WHO'S NOT TALKING (Broadcast in USA: April 23 2002) Caitlin ends her relationship with Tom and tells Charlie she's interested in dating him. When they go out on their first date, things are awkward … Until they end up in bed together, that is. But, are they ready for a real relationship? Meanwhile, the Mayor hires a temp, Pete, to fill in for Stuart while he's out, but Paul and Carter see him as a threat.

6.21  A TALE OF FOUR CITIES (Broadcast in USA: April 30 2002)  SEASON FINALE PART ONE 8pm Central - In the first half of the broadcast, Charlie and Caitlin struggle to find security in their new relationship. To spite Charlie for downplaying an encounter with an ex, Caitlin accompanies one of New York's ten sexiest men on a business date to make Charlie jealous. Meanwhile, the Mayor plots a way to one-up his rival, the Mayor of Los Angeles.

6.22  A FRIEND IN NEED (Broadcast in USA: April 30 2002)  SEASON FINALE PART TWO  8.30pm Central - In the second part of the broadcast, Charlie and Caitlin are caught having sex on a surveillance camera in the Mayor's office and their secret affair is blown. Carter is finally granted a foster child, but is frustrated when he sees that Paul is better with the baby than he is - until the Mayor helps him tap into his paternal instincts.
