Home The Motel History Contact Us! Three Forks Area Maps

Three Forks is situated at the Headwaters of the Missouri River. It is the confluence of the Madison, Gallatin and Jefferson Rivers.

The early travels and adventures of Lewis and Clark, lead by Sacajawea, brings a colorful history to this small Gallatin Valley community. Three Forks was a crossroads of Native American Indian tribes. This brought on fierce bloody battles between the Flatheads and the Crows. Even John Colter narrowly escaped death on the bluffs just north of town.

Our rich history is preserved at the Headwaters Heritage Museum. Other historic attractions surround us.
