Claire's optimistic points about Stevo leaving...

We will change most of our styratigies as he took free kicks and was
aimed at in our free kicks and corners which will vary our play a lot
and make us less predsicatable. It will also mean that he can't take a
lot with him to Burnley as he is really the main part of our defencive
and attacking movement. It will give the defenders in the reserves a
better chance of a first team place with the spot on the bench being
fairly open and I think wil encourage the players to better in the post-
Davis era!!
Steve wasn't that good at closing players down especially at Millwall
and Hull and musat take a fair bit of stick for the goals we have
conceded this season.
Whitey has only had one partnership with Marv this season and that was a
Lincon. Then we were let down by the absence of Grezza and not of
Stevo. Without playing Whitey at the back for a great number of games I
don't think that we can critisise him as it will take a while to get
used to the teams set up and the players around him. I may be the only
one who thinks that what Marv has achieved this year in defence has out
done that of Steve.
Some facts. The last time that Steve scored the wnning goal was at
Walsall on the first day of the season. The last time he scored and was
on a winning side was at Coventry.
He may have had a hieght advantage but that was of an inch above players
and Gray could out jump him. He was also starting to loose his
dominance in both of the penalty areas.

We will have a tough time geting over him but we will make it. I hear
white has good free kicks, he will also grow in dominance, Macca has a
good drive and we have youngsters with the power to run at people we
will have someone who wants to be there and is interested being captain
(Marv!!!) and we get to see Marv writing the coloumn. Oh if you didn't
hear Marv is taking over as Club Captain which from him performances
this season I think he deserves.
Also I would have to say that if I had the choice to sell Springy and
Evers OR Steve I would go for Steve as we are lacking in mid-field at
the moment and I don't thik that we would function without them. I bet
Colchester have gone down the shoot, they won't know how we are going to
play, who we will aim at, who will take free kicks, who the tea will be
etc. we have so many people battling for mid-field positions, defenceve
and strikers that we could have a Chelsea squad!!! well maye not but it
will open things up and I feel it will be good for the club in the long
run!!!!
One of the biggest advantages yet though is
WE NOW ONLY HAVE ONE DAVIS AT THE CLUB!!!!!!!
Life will be so much better!!!!
Claire.
