Meet Don

[Photo of Don]Don Robertson*

Mr. Robertson was born in 1939, in Mount Vernon, New York. When he was 15, he lived in Darien, Connecticut. On a summer evening while playing badminton with a group of 13 teenagers, he looked up and saw a strange object travelling from the Northeast to the Southwest. The sun was setting, brightly illuminating the bottom of the craft, which was triangular in shape. The object was very high (over 50 degrees) in the sky. Don was very familiar with aircraft of all kinds. At the time, he was teaching Aircraft Identification to those who manned Ground Observer Post Bravo, Mike, Three Zero, Red. He taught them to identify aircraft not only by sight, but also by sound.

The huge object he was now looking at made no sound. It might have been an F-102 fighter, but it was way too small, and there was a large fin projecting from the bottom of the craft! Indeed, on closer inspection the craft he was tracking was made up of four perpendicular triangles! A huge sign went off in his head UFO!

Robertson made one big mistake that evening. He reported the object to the Ground Observer Corps Filter Center in White Plaines, New York; to the USAF. He never heard another word about it! He didn't have any proof that what he saw was real for several years. But, while reading a book on UFOs while at college in Defiance, Ohio, he turned a page and found a sketch of the same kind of object he had seen that evening in Connecticut! The object in the book had been seen in Colorado. Since that day, Don Robertson has been a firm believer in UFOs, has had many other sightings through the years and has been fortunate to meet, and know some of the biggest names in UFO Research.

For the last four years, he has been writing a column on UFOs, OUT THERE! for a weekly newspaper, Coastal View published in Carpinteria, California. He also writes an Aviation column entitled PLANE NUTS! Mr. Robertson has also had articles on both subjects published in The California Sun, and The Pacific Flyer.

Robertson tells his readers: "I'm not asking you to believe the things I write about, but if I make you think about these things, I'm doing something useful."
