According to two well known UFO investigators who were traveling east recently, "The whole ridge line at the Rocketdyne facility was amazingly lit up as they drove by it. "There were huge beams of bright light shining skyward from the ground. We couldn’t believe it!" The chap I sat next to at MUFON last night told me , "That whole ridge in the Santa Susannas is honeycombed with caves...is an underground facility. They’re landing space vehicles there, working on anti-gravity drive. But it is our stuff, some of which is based on reverse engineering. There are several major companies involved, as well as major universities. The money for it all comes through government grants to the universities, which are used to fund these black projects. The University of Pennsylvania is part of it back east, and Stanford University out here." The "Stranger" works a military facility in California, and says he has several close ties with people in the Intelligence community. He also brought up the rift between factions in the intelligence world. "There are lots of fed up officials, astronauts, and other high ranking people who want the truth about everything released," the stranger concluded. I didn’t know the man, but he knew me from reading my column; seeing my picture in Coastal View. He seemed pretty sincere to me. You have to make up your own mind.

I asked him what happened on October 3rd last year? "It was an accident. The vehicle came down at Rocketdyne, and they fixed it, and sent it off. They brought in an elite unit to sanitize the whole thing," the stranger told me.

Several days earlier a man ordered coffee from me early one morning: "A big one...I got a long drive. I commute to Canoga Park every day." "Down near Rocketdyne, eh," I asked? "Yes!" he said, "I work there for Boeing." "Really!" I said surprisingly. "Are you working on the ships that come in every week down there?" His eyes got real big, and he paused before answering. "I’m just an engineer," he said, quickly disappearing out the door.

I have believed what the stranger told me, ever since the events of October 3. The coffee drinker just confirms that belief, and we are digging deeper into what’s going on at Rocketdyne. Civilian and military guards there gave MUFON confirmation that spacecraft were landing there. One of our investigators saw a silver disc cavorting over the site last October. As I say, we just have to be patient. At the same time, we are paying for all of this! We deserve to know the truth!

Camarillo Type Object Spotted In Carpinteria
At about 5:44 p.m. Tuesday 1/28/97, the same type of craft seen over the holidays last year was spotted from Carpinteria, over the Santa Barbara Channel, by Mr. K., an experienced UFO observer. "It was straight out toward the islands...above the horizon about thirty degrees. It was like the object filmed in Camarillo...really high at first, a bright white light...brighter than a star. Five friends and I saw it dissipate: pieces were coming of each side of it first, like smaller objects...then smoke came out the top, it dimmed, and changed to a reddish hue...then the whole thing broke apart and just disappeared." Mr. K has not seen the Camarillo video tape. These events were the same as those recorded in Camarillo, and seen by a couple in Santa Barbara in December.

This is the third time Mr. K. has seen the object. He and his family witnessed the same sightings as the Camarillo family on Thanksgiving evening, and the following night’s event. The last night it was seen in Camarillo was December 28, 1996, when it appeared twice the same night! Since then it has not been seen there, mostly because of bad weather.

It returned Wednesday at the same time, 5:44 pm, but further to the north; over San Miguel Island. Unfortunately, the group I was with were checking out the previous day’s location. "Thursday night the object did not appear, nor did it appear on Friday, " Mr. K informed me.

What are these strange objects that appear and disappear in our skies? A friend suggested that they might be parachute flares used by the Navy. Pt MUGU, said they didn’t know of any activity like that scheduled. As in the Camarillo sightings, the object was visible for 5 to 15 minutes to observers. I don’t know for sure what they are or who is controlling them. My gut feeling is that they are ours, and are connected in some way to what is going on at the old Rocketdyne facility.
