1975. You could have bought something simple like a Tascam 5B mixer or a
seriously expensive "real console". The console above had 16
modular inputs with fully parametric EQ on each and had 8 output busses
for a Tascam 80-8. The mike preamps evolved into a balanced, transformerless
design using high slew rate, for the time, LM318 op-amps. All console outputs
had hi-current, discrete buffers for driving low impedance lines. The metering
was done with 24 multiplexed, peak reading led displays. The sunken patch
bay could access almost every circuit module for some major configuration
