Edmonton Oilers HomepageHello there fellow Oiler lovers ( no not the houston Oilers of football , the Edmonton Oilers of hockey ) . I am a Oiler fan but I was not until I met them . They are a pretty cool bunch of guys and they are really nice except for one looser that looks like Jason Arnott , but is not Arnott . I met them on a nice sunny winter day which was the day before they played the Washington Suckitals and they came for a practice at The Gardens Ice House in Laurel , MD . Of course it was a publicity thing , well sorta . I guess Piney Orchard Ice Rink did not have aany free ice spots nor the Suckitals center . Everyone of the team attended but two players did not play . They were Jason Arnott and the oh so famous , Curtis Joseph . After the practice there was about a 45 minute autograph session and every fan walked away happy . As many hockey fans know the Edmonton Oilers reigned for about five years during the late 1980's winning about five Stanley Cups . During that time now very famous stars played for them including Grant Fuhr , Wayne Gretzky , Mark Messier , Marty McSorley , Jari Kurri , Bill Randford , Andy Moog and Mike Krushalnyski . Mike did not exactly get the share of fame he deserved but he was not exatly a no namer . I know Mike and he is a really nice guy . I asked him what it was loike to win the Cup one day and he said it was such an incredible feeling that words could not describe it . That was not the only timer mike got to the finals but he made it with the Red Wings against the Devils in 1994-95 . Out of the current stars of the NHL the Oilers have some players on that list . Some include Jason Arnott , Mike Greer and Curtis Joseph . Well see ya later . E-mail me and tell me your thoughts on the Oilers below - gol10dr1@aol.com |
