Paula's CD project titled Near has been getting lots of grass roots attention, we are very proud of her work and the many fine musicians that helped produce this wonderful project. The CD release at Rosebud, was a great party! Thanks for the support.

Paula's Family Arts Theatre Album "Its Halloween" won the Parent's Choice Foundations Gold Award for children's audio. This is one of  only three such awards the Foundation gives each year. "Its Halloween" was chosen from the many thousands of recordings selected for consideration this year.

2nd Nature is a band that performs a mix of eclectic acoustic music including many original tunes written by the bands talented song writers, Paula Nakles/Purnell and Gerard Rohlf. Instrumentalist Art Gazdik on violin & mandolin provides soulful,energetic arrangements that make 2nd Nature swing. Check out our bios... .

The Post-Gazette's Tony Norman says " Rohlf's voice - rough, but well honeyed .....turns corners with yodel like audacity ...... Nakles/Purnell has one of those luminous voices that somehow manages to sound timeless ........ none of this would be out of place at New York's famed Bottom Line........" (Pittsburgh Post Gazette 3/28/97).

City Paper writer Matthew Craig wrote, " You have to admire any group that goes from Stephen Foster to Leonard Cohen to Joan Osborne in little more than an hour. Throw in some engaging originals and you've discovered 2nd Nature.....Very few musical rocks were left unturned by the time the band finished its organic good-natured set." (City Paper 8/21/97)
