--A database that will place small red crosses on the Meade Stars and corresponding labels next to the stars in TheSky Astronomy Software.  (19KB) 
--The Meade Stars can then be found and brought to the screen by entering their assigned numbers into the "Find" function of TheSky.
--Complete instructions with graphics are included.
--This information has proven to be very useful to owners of TheSky and Meade "GoTo" telescopes in planning photographic and visual observing sessions.

The image shown above was printed in Chart mode at various scales and carried into the field for use in photographing the Horsehead.



Before downloading and using this database, it is recommended that you consider deleting previous versions of this material that you may have downloaded from this site before April 15, 1999. This material has far greater versatility.

Also, glance through these three pages completely one time before beginning the download and implementation.

The procedures offered here have been tested successfully many times by persons of all skill levels and even by persons with no computer familiarity. Taken one step at a time this task can be accomplished completely within 10 minutes.

Please report any problems that you encounter and any successes in implementation and use.



Instructions for Version 5 Users

You can download the complete database (19KB) ready to be compiled in your TheSky program from this link.
--When prompted, place the download MeadeStar__ directly into your SDBs folder, typically found on your main drive at:

Program Files/SoftwareBisque/TheSky/User/SDBs

Your new MeadeStar__ database is now ready for compilation in TheSky. Complete instructions are offered on the next page.    



Question.  Do you know how to save an on-line web page and its images to your computer? This procedure has worked for the author.

--From an on-line browser window select File>Save. Note the name of the page and save to a convenient location.
--Then with the right mouse button, click on each image on that page and save to the same location.
--From an off-line browser window select File>Open and open the correct file. The images will appear on the page in their correct locations without further effort on your part.
