Some Historical Information about my files:

          The first place I submitted names to was The Roots Cellar at Everton's.  (That was before Online).   At that time I used the U.S. Postal Service for all my letter writing.  The computer has made Genealogy lots easier for keeping all the information at our finger tips.  And this Online Cyberspace is wonderful for exchanging information and getting information. When I first got my computer the first Genealogy Program I bought was around two hundred dollars and I spent most of my time learning to run the program.  Then I purchased the PAF program for around fifteen dollars and I have stayed with it over the years.  PAF does all that I need it too and I purchased Ancestral Quest to put the pictures in and to print nice reports in Windows, it uses the same files as PAF so I don't have to duplicate my work or the files.

       In all of this wonderful ocean of information that we now have, there is still human error as well as electronic errors. I have found that by the time I get my files online that they are scrambled somewhat, not all but some of them get mixed up. There is a process that the files have to go though to get them here.  I first put the information into the PAF program, I check and recheck to make sure the information is typed correctly.  Then I take those files and make a GEDCOM file making all the files into one file.  Then I Run another program changing the GEDCOM file into lots of HTML files (Web pages).  These are the files that you see online.  Then I compress those files  so that they can be transported, after they are received they are decompressed.  

         Because these files are going though all these conversions they sometimes get mixed up.  Now I suppose that I could use a smaller file to start with but that would mean that I wouldn't have as much information available for you to view.  And which would I choose to put online and what would I leave out.  I'm afraid that if I left any out that would be just what you were looking for.  So I have left the notes and sources out.  I am using 65 megs of space already.  Plus all the free space that I can find.  So what this means is if you see something that is questionable  let me know and I will check my not so used files at home.  I'm sorry I would like for the files to be perfect and I try to keep them that way but I just can't,  I need your help to tell me so that I can correct the mistakes, and then the next time I update the online files they will be closer to being perfect.
