of Topeka, Kansas,
enlisted into A-
Company of the 20th
Kansas Volunteer
Infantry Regiment on
29 April, 1898. He
remained with and
participated in all of
his regiment's Philip-
pine engagements
until the "Fighting
20th" mustered out
of  U. S. service at
      San Francisco, 28 October 1899. The above photo was taken
on that same date.
