Dear Recovering Friends,
When I started this website, I was in early recovery. I wrote of my experiences as I lived them, from the state of mind and recovery that I was in at that time. It has been a few years since I've written any of my "home grown recovery links". Looking over the site now, I see many things that I would change if I were to update it. I'm not so sure that's a good idea. Most people who surf the web for recovery websites are in early recovery, and are looking for information that will help them. Few people in long term recovery do the same. And please don't write to me and tell me "I've got 20 years of recovery, and I surf the web all the time for sites that will help me recover". If you do, I'm going to write you back and tell you to get a life.
Maybe one day, I'll build a website that's just for people with double-digit recovery. But I think I would do newcomers a disservice if I dismantle this site to do so. The last time I did any serious writing for this website was when I was seven years clean. Now, other than regular site maintenance (fixing broken links, adding rebuttals, etc.), this site is now frozen in time, at that point.
Good luck in your recovery,
Glenn S.
