.PGN FILES

Download a .pgn file of the 8 game match between GMs Leko and Adams for the (unofficial) Fischerandom World Championship (Mainz, 2001)

Download a .pgn file of 14 selected games from the 2002 Mainz Fischerandom Tournament (won by GM Svidler)

Download a .pgn file of 2 Fischerandom exhibition games played between GMs Yermolinsky and Wojtkiewicz

Download a .pgn file of a correspondence challenge match played between S. Ryan and IM D. Valer-Eugen under ICCF rules

If you wish, you can create one file out of the above four by opening the files in a text editor (e.g. NotePad) and cutting and pasting them into a single file. The file should be saved in .txt format, but the .pgn suffix must follow the file name (e.g. Fischerandom_Games.pgn).

Download the .pgn standard from PGN Utilities

N.B. Standard .pgn files can either be opened in a text editor or in a specialist reader, such as ChessPad, ChessBase Light or Chess Assistant Light. However most .pgn readers are unable to handle the intricacies of Fischerandom castling. The usual (extremely unsatisfactory) solution is to split files, ante- and post-castling. There is, however, a freeware program which can read Fischerandom .pgn files - Download CompoChess to play through all of the games in the above files.

And, if you want to generate random starting positions and save them as .bmp or .png files- Download FullChess FEN editor
