FOUR STAR FIVE MINUTE WORKSHOP
__________________________________
Everyone writes down a topic and puts them in a pile. Then someone picks a
topic, reads it aloud, and everyone writes on that subject for five
minutes. At the end of five minutes, everyone reads their poem
starting to the left of the person who picked the topic and proceed
clockwise around the room till everyone has read. Then the person
who read first, picks the next subject and it goes around the room,
till it gets back to the first person. If there is enough time more
topics are gathered and it starts all over again.
Sometimes we explicate a poem brought by one of the poets.
This can be a poem from either a classical or contempory poet.
We also, occasionally, will have a visual topic like a picture
from a magazine, artwork or even a "box" topic filled with assorted
objects like a piece of twine, a duck decoy, a bit of moss and a rubber snake.
