THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!

Howdy,

My name is Jeffrey. I'm 30+ years old, in the USAF, and currently assigned at Little Rock AFB, AR. I've been here since November 2001. Prior to being stationed here at LRAFB, I was at Suwon AB, ROK (South Korea). Prior to my ROK trip, I was stationed at Holloman AFB, NM, for nine years (November '91 to Nov '00) where I worked for over three years in one of the two operational F-117A Nighthawk (re: Stealth) squadrons in the world - the 9th Fighter Squadron "Flying Knights". I joined the USAF in August of 1991 and have deployed to a number of locations in the world, to include: Saudi Arabia (twice), Kuwait (twice), Oman, Pakistan, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq (three times) and Crete, Greece. I've always done my best to learn as much as I can about the local culture of my host nation, to include customs and courtesies, which are sometimes odd by our American standards. Still, any time that I can learn something new is a good Deployment.

I came in to the service from Hot Springs, Arkansas, but was born in Harrisonville, Missouri, just south of Kansas City. I'm happily married to Jacquelyn (a.k.a. "Jackie", a.k.a. "Wife") and we have three children - Alison (10), Daniel (7) and Ryan (just over 1 year)! Alison was born in 1997, Daniel was born in 1999 (just in time for us to get a tax break!) and Ryan in '06. Here are a few Family Pics, though they're outdated by a couple of years. I really need to update them with fresh pics....

I've been building Star Trek models since I was nine years old by building my first TOS 18" Enterprise, w/o my dad's help. While I've built a number of non-SF/Trek models in my life, nothing seems to catch my passion quite like Star Trek. I had a brief flirtation w/WWII ships, armour & aircraft in my mid-teens, but eventually came back to Trek. I've built over 80 Sci-Fi models so far in my life, most of which are Trek. I currently have nearly 50 built Sci-Fi models in my possession (which doesn't include the miniatures for gaming, which would bring that total up to nearly 100!), 39 of which are Trek. I've built resin kits, regular production kits, conversion kits, vacuform kits, kitbashed ships, and have recently started scratchbuilding a few pieces for conversions. The scale I most prefer to build in is 1:537, which is the same scale as the AMT/ERTL ST:TMP Enterprise thru the ST:VI Enterprise-A kits, as well as the ERTL Reliant kit.

Jeffrey's Models is a page I created that has a list of all the models that I have built - or am in the process of building - and have pics of on this site. I've also had two in-box previews published at Starship Modeler. They are: Nova Hobbies Gallant Class and Nova Hobbies Regula One Space Station kits. This is an older page and I really need to update it, once again.

I love to kitbash original designs and the best parts I've so far seen for making your own home-grown conversions/kitbashed starships used to be from Thomas Models. However, he currently doesn't produce those parts, sadly. He still has some of the best decals for Trek kits out there on the market. If you can get your hands on them, they are definitely worth the money!

I also highly highly recommend Don Matthys' resin accurizing parts for larger scale Trek kits. Don has pieces & decals for just about every major Trek kit produced to help accurize or light them. You can purchase most of his products through Federation Models, which I also recommend.

One of the best sources for custom ship decals I've found thus far, overall, is JTGraphics. The decals that are produced by Jeffrey Waclawski are just fantastic! Jeffrey has a large selection of names in various scales and ship classes to choose from and will do your custom ship names for a fee. He also includes detailed placement instructions, as well as excellent instructions on how to use the decals, if you've never done so before. I highly recommend his products, which you can find at Federation Models, or by contacting Jeffrey directly at: jtwaclawski@radicus.net. He's pretty quick to respond to email and his service is quite fast, as well.

If you're in to reference/technical manuals, Jackill's StarFleet Reference Manuals are a must have - provided you can find them! They came in three volumes, with the first two concerning TOS Movie ships (based off of the refit Enterprise and Reliant - that style), and the third is mostly ships based off of the Excelsior/Enterprise-B designs. They were $15.95 each and can usually be found at Sci-Fi/Gaming stores or a decent sized Con - or on eBay. Eric "Jackill" Kristiansen is in the process of re-writing his books, though it looks to be a while longer before we see them, unfortunately. I have it from Eric directly that he's currently working on revamping these books again, as well as a TOS Era book. News will be updated on his website, which can be found at: Jackill's.

You might be able to find "Ships of the StarFleet, Volume One, Revised", "Ships of the Fleet, Volume Two" or "StarFleet Prototype", as well. All three of these are excellent source materials for just speculating or even scratchbuilding projects. There are also an extremely large number of blueprint sets, magazines and other book style fan produced products out there to help fuel the fires of kitbashing and customization. Again, they're hard to come by these days, but most SF Conventions or decent sized used book stores might have some of them on the dealers tables or shelves. And of course, there's always eBay.

I want to add that I get no recompense/kick-backs from Thomas Models, Don Matthys, JT Graphics, Federation Models, the creator of Jackills or the other three books mentioned. I'm just the type of person who likes to help out his fellow modelers & "Treknologists"...
