The Roswell Mills Sons of Confederate Veterans

Camp #1547

Roswell, Georgia

The Roswell Mills SCV Camp is one of almost 100 Sons of Confederate Veterans camps across the State of Georgia. Founded by Ken Howell, a long time member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Roswell camp is based on the important history of Roswell in its roll during the War Between the States.

Wood cut of the Roswell Mills in the late 1850's before Sherman's March through Georgia.

The Roswell Mills Camp is currently promoting the raising of a monument dedicated to the Mill workers. During the War these workers were mainly women who were systematically rounded up along with their children and sent to prison after the Roswell mills were ordered burned by Yankee General Sherman because the mills were producing materials for the Confederate States of America.
