Sons of Confederate Veterans
Our Purpose
The Roswell Mills Camp No. 1547, Sons of Confederate Veterans, desires
to provide the City of Roswell with a monument to honor the memory of
her most courageous citizens. We feel it is our duty, as the legacy of
a namesake, to offer a lasting tribute to the honor and memory of these
innocent victims of war and the men who fought to protect them.

The Monument of Honor
With a design inspired by the Roswell King monument in Founders Cemetery,
. The granite structure will stand ten feet high.
. The square base will bear inscriptions on all four sides, dedicating
the monument to the millworkers who were removed by Federal troops
and to the men of Roswell who fought to defend their southern homeland.
. A brief chronology of events is included.
. The base is surmounted by a shattered Corinthian column, symbolic
of lives that were torn apart under tragic circumstances.
. It will be located at the end of Old Mill Park on Sloan Street,
surrounded by many of the origional residences of the people it honors.
