WHY SLEEP ON YOUR ROOF?

The most obvious answer is that it gets you up off the hard ground and provides the most comfortable and convenient platform for sleeping--bumps, rocks, sticks and mud are no longer a problem. There is no longer a need to fear snakes, raccoons, skunks, bears, and other creatures. Ventilation is better, because you are up off the ground with an amazing view. With your camper on top of your vehicle, your hitch is available to tow a boat or any other equipment you would like to bring along on your camping trips.

HOW DO I GET INTO TOP BUNK®?

Top Bunk® comes with a heavy-duty, light weight, collapsible ladder. The ladder quickly attaches to the same rack system that supports Top Bunk®. It comes with it's own storage bag and can be stored in Top Bunk® or elsewhere when traveling.

IS THERE REALLY ENOUGH ROOM FOR TWO ADULTS?

Yes, more than enough. The Comfort Plus® mattress is as wide as a double bed and long enough for a person 6'8" tall. When opened, it is five feet high at the tallest point--there is more than 80 cubic feet of space.

WON'T IT DAMAGE THE ROOF OF MY VEHICLE?

This question is important and one that we take very seriously. The answer is NO! The reason is Top Bunk® doesn't actually sit on the roof of your vehicle. Instead, it sits on a special removable rack system that distributes the weight of Top Bunk® and its occupants to the rain gutters and/or other structural supports which are part of the vehicle's frame. When properly installed, these racks with three crossbars can easily hold more than 600 pounds.

CAN I TAKE IT DOWN AND SLEEP IN IT?

Yes. In fact, we have developed a simple wheel assembly that makes Top Bunk® portable. Let's say you go for a day at the beach. Get the Top Bunk® down and wheel it down to the beach...instant cabana! In addition, Top Bunk® can be placed at remote sites (like that great mountainside property where you want to build a cabin) to serve as a lockable bedroom/storage unit. In fact, one of our customers tows a Top Bunk® behind a snowmobile for backcountry cross-country ski adventures!
