some FREEWARE games

These games were exciting edu-tainment back in the mid-90's when machines were DOS or Win 3.1. I left them here in case some of you like "oldies but goodies" and want the challenge of getting them to run under Windows XP or Linux or whatever.

• Keen Dreams - young Commander Keen, refusing to eat his vegetables, has dreams of mad vegetables chasing him. No high-res graphics, but hours of fun challenge from award-winning creators. Many worlds, including the feared King Boobus Tuber and his Tater Troopers.
  DOS. EGA/VGA/SVGA. Mouse, Sound Card. Parents troubled by violence will like this: mad vegetables get stopped not by killing them but by beaning them with a flower seed...which turns them into a potted flower...momentarily. • Math Rescue - superb Mario-type math game for children. The mean Gruzzles are stealing numbers! Stop them! Advance through many levels. (At the DOS prompt, type MR1 LEARN to remove the option of your children skipping the math problems as they advance through the levels. Meany!) DOS. • Street Shuffle for Windows ver 1.5 - part simulation, part arcade as you guide your cab through the various highway puzzles! Small screen at first, but...wait till around level 23!

No fancy graphics, music...but has 2 great features I've not seen anywhere else: 1) can replay moves from previous try (saves tediously redoing parts already solved), and 2) can create your own levels (great fun making a level and watching a friend try to solve it).
