Hi all, and welcome to the Doodle Page, on this, the day after Christmas. Perhaps appropriately, as a present for all, I've got many doodles to share with you, so we'll get right too it.
We'll start with a couple of drawings done by Andy Fox, based upon his recent trip to Ireland to visit fellow list member Sean Campbell. Aparantly Andy saw some things there that baffled him so much, that he just had to draw them. Now, the Irish, like the English, refer to what American's know as "Fries" as "Chips." Now, I have never personally seen the things they serve over there, but it is my understanding that they are closer to what are generally in the US called "Steak Fries" than the more generic "French Fries" like you get at McDonalds. That being said, the Chips over there are more like, in Andy's own words, "Freakin' huge blocky potatoes." See his reaction for yourself in AndyIreland1.jpg. Apparently, Sean did not understand Andy's befuddlement...
While in Ireland, Andy made two interesting discoveries. First, those things at airports that us American's call "moving sidewalks" are called "Rollpads" in Ireland. This, in its own right was confuzzleing to Andy, but even more so, were the moving rock walls that are built into them. Say what? Well, if you wanna see what that means, check out AndyIreland2.jpg.
Changing gears a bit, and in keeping with the holiday spirit, we have a drawing called ToonTitans.jpg by Pepe K. In his never ending pursuit of Leloni Bunny, Thorne has taken on what he hopes will be a more appealing form to her to help the misteltoe he is dangling do it's work. And in case you didn't know, Thorne and Leloni are playing the roles of Beast Boy and Raven from Teen Titans in this pic.
Pepe K has also decided to have some fun at my expense. He has two images where he has my HKU character spoofing that old cartoon superstar, Underdog. In TheresNoNeedToFear.jpg we are introduced to "Gollywog" a superhero that looks remarkably like my HKU character. Then, in ItsGollywog.jpg several well known list members help HKU spoof one of the bumper segments of the old Underdog show. To be honest, it hurt!
And that's not all! Pepe's not done with me yet. (whimper...) Now, many of you have heard of the town of Concord, Massachusetts. Place where a battle was fought at an old bridge in April of 1775. Or Concord, the capital city of the state of New Hampshire. And many of your probably mis-pronounce it as if it were said the same way as the supersonic jet, the Concorde. Concord, the name of the town, is pronounced the same as the word, "conquered." Or, if you wanna say it with a THICK New England accent, "KAHN-kid" (My own accent ain't that thick) Anywhoo, several month's ago, inspired by my attempts to explain how the Condore on TTA spells his name wrong based on how it's pronounced, Pepe wen and drew Conkid.jpg. I'm just not sure if he's making fun of me or not...
Okay, up next is an image by Thorne called PlumpFifi.jpg. This was drawn for Pepe K, who see's Fifi more this way as she get older. Or at least, that's my understanding. I'm sure Pepe will correct me if I am wrong.
Okay, we'll wrap things up with several images drawn by relative newcomer Eric D. Hound. We'll start with Picture140.jpg, a fun little image where he gets a hug from Fifi La Fume. Next is Picture041.jpg where Eric gets to meet Pepe's Dr. Lord character. And then, we have a series of images that amount to kind of comic book style story. It seems to fit better here than on the main archive, so I hope you enjoy it. It's a kind of Toon/Tranformers crossover story. Wakko, Shirley, Eric Hound and others are featured. I'll just list the pages for easy of reference.
