Emergency Response Plan
Fairfax Joint Local Emergency Planning Committee
The Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan (HMERP) is published annually by the Fairfax Joint Local Emergency Planning Committee to provide hazardous materials information to the citizens of Vienna, Herndon and the City and County Fairfax. The HMERP identifies Critical Hazard Facilities located in the area and describes the extremely hazardous substances that are used or stored at each facility. It also details emergency procedures and plans for each facility.
Each year, the FJLEPC conducts an exercise of the HMERP to ensure that emergency responders and other critical agencies are prepared to deal with a hazardous materials incident.
