since this show was only 4 hours away from my house, i decided that it would be really cool if my mom would come, too. so...we did. yay!!!
so, after getting to the meet and greet (first, at 12:30 and since no one was there [the riverport amphitheatre was really big and it was hard to tell where they were going to actually hold one of these things. it was sort of frustrating] we left. we came back around 2:30 and found a small group of people. i was #10. woo.) at around 2:30 me and my mom (as i just said) were numbered #10 and #11. i saw two girls there whom i had known from the lawrence show two years earlier and i said 'hi' to them. i also met a fabulous girl named denise and a wonderful sweetypie named paul. they both rock my socks, man. :) denise showed me her *incredible* photo album and we talked a lot about the past shows and i found that she knew a lot of my friends as well!
around 3:15 pm we were told to go to the front entrance of the venue and we were all like...."okay....the front??". the security people there assured us that she would be arriving at the front of the building. so, we obliged and walked over there. the number system was followed well, and i ended up being only one person back. (there was maybe about 25-30 of us! wow!) not soon after that, steve came up in a golfcart and told us that we were in the right place (yayayay) and that tori 'might' come and talk to us because it was so long of a walk from the backstage area...yadda yadda yadda. we knew she was going to come. hah.
after he left, i said out loud, "wouldn't it be funny if she came up to us
riding in a golfcart??". i heard a lot of 'yeah right's'
around me but....you
know. it could happen.
then around 4:30ish (maybe earlier), tori comes up with joel......in a GOLFCART! (Hahahahaha told them!!) she has her tigger with her and she is wearing this gold dress thingie with a white t-shirt underneath and these white flip-flops that had big flowers (heh.) on them. her hair was pulled back tight. and so she starts on the right side and she's talking to people.....mmmmk.
so she gets to where i am. i go, 'tori!!'. and she finds my skanky ass and goes, "hi! how are you??" i go "oh, i'm great!" and i give her my letter/birthday card/tape (a silly mix tape of songs...you know. random.) and i told her that she *had* to read my letter (more 'upside down' stuff. heh). she says to me, "oh!! is this all for me??" i said, "yeah..." i felt really rushed for some reason...like she was trying to talk to me and i felt like i didn't need to be taking to much of her time. sigh.
i think i snapped out of it and i remembered that my mom was there (she was standing right behind me) and moved so she could see her better and i go, "tori, this is my mom..." and tori goes, "oh! like i couldn't have figured THAT one out! hahaha" (do we really look that much alike? hmm). i asked tori if i could get a picture with her and she said 'of course'. i gave my camera to my mom and tori and i posed for the picture.
my mom took two!!! sort of by accident. she was afraid the first one didn't turn out, so she took another one and i go, "mom...just one, okay?". tori laughed. (i could just invision hearing joel getting on my case for this) ack. i said 'thanks' and she then moved on down the line.
so, she moved on and she talked about to someone about how much she loves figureskating and how she went backstage one time at an event and she saw torvil & dean and peggy flemming and was, like, drooling. she said rockstars never really did it for her (umm...i seem to recall some guy named robert plant something...um....yeah) and she saved all the infatuation for the skaters. and she mentioned how when she saw michelle kwan backstage she told, "hon, you need to get away from your parents.'. ack! okay. :/
also around this time, i grabbed my friend johnnie and i pushed her to the
front. tori signed her tanktop (johnnie!! tori signed your boob!). that was
pretty cool. yay!
she seemed to talk to people for a long time, but eventually she had to leave.
my mom and i left and we went to develop my pictures (which turned out *great*!) and we got a bite to eat. we made it back to the venue around 7ish and i found denise, paul and tiffany sitting in the front. i showed them my pictures and i gave denise the doubles she requested.
my mom and i then went inside and i got a t-shirt (that yummy northern lad one) and we found our seats (suck!). the devlins came on around 8pm. it was still to early for me to really know their stuff, but...i still enjoyed it. they played for about 1/2 hour.
the lights went up and we waited and waited (seemed like forever) and FINALLY at around 9:25 they went down and out came the band. they started into 'precious things' and tori came out! she was wearing a gray long sleeved leotardshirthing and one of her white glittery aprons. and cartman was sitting on one of the speakers. ahahhahahhaha
