Here's what Glen told The IDIC Page about the software he uses for his drawings: "I use a freeware ray tracer called POV-Ray. The learning curve is steep, the syntax is complex, you have to code each model as text descriptions, and they take ages to render - but the results speak for themselves. 3D Studio, Raydream and to a certain extent Lightwave all have sexy interfaces that let you create models fairly easily, but they all tend to look a bit "plastic" to me. POV-Ray gives the most "photo-realistic" results I have ever come across because of its accurate raytracing engine. All of the models I have sent you were created with versions 1 and 2, and I'm currently in the process of learning v3, but if you really want to be slack-jawed with amazement at what some people are doing with this latest version, check out the Internet Ray Tracing Competition at The Internet Ray Tracing Competition ."
