(GALILE02.JPG) "LANDING FOR PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF CAPELLA III" 2267 - A view of the Enterprise shuttlecraft "Galileo" coming in to land on Capella III at a possible site for a Federation outpost. The Capella system is in the disputed border area between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets, and the USS Enterprise has recently successfully negotiated for Topaline mining rights on the nearby Capella IV. The inhabitants of that world, however, have refused any military presence there. Capella III is just barely a class-M world, but a Starfleet outpost is essential in this system to monitor Klingon cross-border activities and to ensure the safety of commercial traffic and the continued sovereignty of Capella IV.
