Igbie!
Here I am hard at work in my workshop. I am working on the motor for a Victor Victrola Model XI. I hope to replace the springs which are broken and have another fine machine.
The New Addition To My Collection
This is an Edison S 19 Diamond Disc Player. I found it in a little junk Shop in need of repair and purchased it for a song. I refinished the case, made a new speaker grill, and cleaned and greased the motor. It still needs a little dusting on the inside as you can see. Another hour or so and this will be a nice player once again.
Are you having trouble getting your phonograph's speed set just right?
What you need is a "Strobe". You can get them for free
or download a nice program to make one at Wolverine Antique Music Society
by clicking on the Columbia Record.
My Latest Project!
Yes, I am temporarily crossing over. My latest restoration project is this old "Philco" radio. I do not know much about it but have come to believe it may be from the late 1930's. It was purchased new by my wife's Grandfather and has been stored in a damp outbuilding for many years and now doesn't work. I plan to completely restore the cabinet and return it to working condition. If anyone has more information on this radio please email me. I would greatly appreciate it. Interested in old radios? Check out the link above!
