~~~ Today Lord ~~~

I walked through your world today Lord... To help me keep in touch with the beauty of your creation...And also to remind myself that I am an instrument of your work... remembering the price you paid... the pain you suffered to make me who I am.....
I took the time to listen Lord... to the birds as they whispered your love and peace into the sky... As if they were going to reveal all the untold secrets of the universe...
I sat quietly by a brook... watching the water rush by... knowing Lord... that only you could create such a wonder... It brought me such a feeling of solitude... and longing to fellowship with you...
I prayed Lord... prayed for the beauty of the earth about me to remain unchanged ... so as to let me always have a place to be with you... I prayed to hear your song whispered to me in the wind.... and your footsteps in the leaves about me... I prayed for the sunshine to always shine as bright as your word... I prayed for your gentleness as I reached out to touch a rose...
You are mine Lord... and I am yours... I can't lose sight of you.... You have wiped away my tears... you have touched me... and helped me to accept everyday as gracefully as the flowers accept the morning sun...
Lord you have never walked so far behind me... so as to let me lose my way...and never so far in front of me... as to let me follow the wrong path... you have always walked beside me... to guide me... and love me...
Lord you have always let me "be me"... with a mind and a choice all my own... You were there even then... and I never knew it... with your arms stretched out... waiting... watching just for me...
Lord you have gently molded me into who I am.. what I am... and I am an instrument of your creation. Your sacrifice at cross was for me... so that I might be washed in the blood of the lamb and free... free to fellowship with you....

Nature Speaks of God

When I look at the roses in their colors of red,
I'm reminded of Jesus and his blood that was shed.

The lilies all dressed in their satiny white,
Tell me that mt righteousness is but rags in his sight.

When I gaze upward into vastness of space,
I thrill at God's mercy and boundless grace.

For all the stars He can number and call each by name,
Yet He never changes but is always the same.

Safe from a raging storm, the little bird in his tree,
Is ever a reminder that God cares for me.

When the crawly old caterpiller develops wings,
Then I get the message: "O Death, where is thy sting?"

Beauty Briefness

I looked up and saw a leaf,
Drift down one autumn day.
I couldn't help but think of you
You were graceful that way......

The leaf I saw was guilted,
With a brilliant golden hue.
And it's beauty quickly brought to mind.
Sweet memories babe of you...

That night I saw a shooting star,
Streak through the heavens grey.
It filled my heart with pure delight,
But quickly passed away.

It made me think of the love we shared,
That vanished all to soon..
It shed it light, then passed away,
Like the wondering of the moon.

I saw an elm, all clothed in green,
Stand brittle, black and bare...
Deprived the caress of the summer sun,
Like a love that is no longer there...

It made me think of myself ..you see,
Since you have gone to your rest divine...
The life in me has withered away...
Like a branch that has been cut from the vine...
