INTRODUCTION

The entirety of this created universe is expression - calculated and designed to serve very particular and special purposes. This is part of what it means to say the creation declares “the glory of God” and “At the beginning God expressed himself. That personal expression, that word, was with God and was God, and he existed with God from the beginning” (John 1:1 Phillips). But creation is not only God’s expression but also that of other sentient being, including ourselves.

Since creation is an expression it is not “The ALL” and it frustrates our attempts to make it so. It is not the substance of our existence, but rather, a medium, a vehicle, an incredibly rich play - full of meanings, allegories and interpretations - layers upon layers upon layers, etc. These meanings can be searched out, studied and digested as we are ready for them. And in that process we will find much nourishment for our spirits. Truth becomes sovereign in us, filling our whole being, and transforming us into a replica of the eternal meanings from the spiritual country.

Seekers of these expressions can begin by familiarizing themselves with what others have to say about them. This is not to say they are forced to accept things on blind faith but only to be unbiased and receptive to what other people have seen and report. All knowledge of the spiritual meanings lies dormant in each person and can be brought to light by traveling the path of knowledge alongside of others. Our healthy understanding will recognize as true the results of genuine spiritual research and this understanding will be a good starting point for our firsthand knowledge of the spiritual world. Unwarranted disbelief, however, is harmful because it acts as a preventive force keeping us from taking up the fruitful and nourishing influence of these thoughts which express the learnings of other explorers.

Here I want to share some “milk and honey”, somewhat like that which Israel found flowing in abundance in the land of her inheritance, for your refreshment and nourishment. I do not challenge you to believe what I have to tell you, but to think about it, take it into the world of your own thoughts and allow it to work from within. You will come to recognize the truth on your own. I set the table and serve up the food but you feed yourself - the power to perceive the truth is within you the reader yourself. By immersing yourself in thoughts such as these you can eventually come to the ability to perceive for yourself. “The anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you; as His anointing teaches you about everything and is true, and is no life, just as it has taught you, abide in Him” (1 John 2:27).
